Sanju in ’Bourne Identity’ remake?

The grapevine is abuzz with the speculation that Sanjay Gupta is planning his next project, a remake of the Matt Damon starrer THE BOURNE IDENTITY. With best friend cum partner Sanjay Dutt heading the cast.

“That's absolute hogwash,” Gupta clarifies in his characteristic style, “I am not remaking or rehashing THE BOURNE IDENTITY. Someone else is doing it instead [name withheld].” Incidentally, Bollywood film-makers had attempted THE BOURNE IDENTITY twice in the past.

So what is Gupta planning next, now that MUSAFIR is ready for release? “I am planning a serious epic saga. It has a huge cast, four lead men to be precise - two from the elder generation, two from the new generation. The new film will be much more intense than KAANTE and MUSAFIR,” the stylish film-maker divulges.

Please elaborate. “I am planning a never-before combination of actors for this film. Like KAANTE had an extremely unusual cast. Even MUSAFIR is different. I have confirmed two actors as of today,” he states, “With this film, I would be completing my trilogy of crime movies… I have decided to take a break after its release.”

Journalist Suresh Nair ['Bombay Times'] and Sujoy Ghosh [JHANKAAR BEATS] are co-writing the script with him, Gupta states. The film will be launched in Dashehra.

PS: We aren't revealing the star cast, but here're the clues. Do the guesswork yourself…

The senior actor, who is Gupta's close friend, will head the cast [no prizes for guessing!], while the second lead man is the young model turned actor who's created quite a dhoom these days.

As for the third hero, the choice is between the senior actor [brother of a topnotch producer] and this middle-aged supremely talented actor [son of an action director].

Again, for the fourth hero, the choice is between the beau of the beauty queen and the legendary super-star's son.
