Cook was injured trying to cut for more yards near the end of a run in the third quarter of Minnesota’s defeat by Detroit on Sunday. He lost a fumble on
the play and needed help off the field. Afterward, he was on crutches

Cook endured some shoulder trouble in college at Florida State, but this will be a new challenge. Not so for the Vikings, who are essentially still recovering
from the dislocated left knee suffered by quarterback Teddy Bridgewater last

ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) – The Oakland Raiders will be without quarterback Derek Carr for two to six weeks after he injured his back in a 16-10 loss to the
Denver Broncos.
Carr left the Raiders’ game at Denver late in the third quarter Sunday after being shaken up on a sack.
Carr was hit by defensive end Shelby Harris and was going down when defensive end Adam Gotsis flew in and wrapped a padded arm between his helmet and shoulder
pads.
Carr remained on the ground for several moments as team trainers and medical personnel came on to the field to tend to him. He eventually was able to get up
and walk off the field on his own power, holding his lower back.
BASEBALL
NEW YORK (AP) – Pete Rose is out of the Fox Sports lineup.
The network says David Ortiz and Keith Hernandez have been added to the Fox studio for postseason telecasts. They’ll join Alex Rodriguez and Frank Thomas as
analysts, along with host Kevin Burkhardt.
The 76-year-old Rose was part of Fox postseason telecasts the last two seasons. A woman’s claim that she had a sexual relationship with the career hits
leader when she was a minor became public this summer. Her claim was part of
testimony in a federal lawsuit Rose filed last year in Philadelphia against a
lawyer whose investigation concluded the former Cincinnati star bet on the Reds
while managing the team.
Ortiz worked in the Fox studio during the 2014 World Series. The Boston slugger retired after last season.
Hernandez has been an analyst on New York Mets telecasts since 2006. The first baseman helped the Mets win the 1986 championship.
The Fox telecasts begin Thursday before the start of the AL Division Series games.
ATLANTA (AP) – The Atlanta Braves say John Coppolella has resigned as general manager after it was learned that he was the target of a Major League Baseball
investigation into a violation of rules in the international player market.
Braves president John Hart will take over GM duties while the team searches for a new one.
In a statement Monday

player market.” Hart said the Braves will give MLB their full cooperation during
the probe.

3. Bennie Logan – Philadelphia EaglesThe theme of the remaining defensive tackles is that they are coming off of a bad season and Bennie Logan is not excluded from that. He was lackluster in
every regard in the 2016 season, but he’s been effective for most of his career
as an overall player, stopping the run and creating pressure.
4. Jared Odrick – Jacksonville JaguarsInjuries have undoubtedly derailed the career of Jared Odrick, but he’s an intriguing player still. When healthy, he’s one of the most versatile defenders
in the league and can do it all from a few different positions. He’s an
interesting flyer that a team could take and see pay off big time.
5. Sen’Derrick Marks – Jacksonville JaguarsAfter struggles early in his career, Sen’Derrick Marks really seemed to have found his groove. Unfortunately, he’s been slowed down by lingering injuries and
he’ll be looking to recover from that again. Because of what he is at his

Linebackers1. Dont’a Hightower – New England PatriotsBy my estimation, Dont’a Hightower was the best available free agent overall entering 2017 NFL free agency (following franchise tagging, of course). Yet the
versatile linebacker and leader remains unsigned as he tests the waters. It’ll
be interesting to see if it’s all a slow-play of New England or if he actually
departs at some point.
2. Zach Brown – Buffalo BillsZach Brown was an absolute monster for the Buffalo Bills one season ago after signing a one-year deal to play in Rex Ryan’s defense. He was a tackling
machine, stifling opponents as a run defender and when dropping back into
coverage. Brown isn’t the caliber of Hightower
Vikings Kendall Wright Jersey , but he could be a terrific signing for some team.
3. DeAndre Levy – Detroit LionsIf teams knew for certain that they would be getting a healthy DeAndre Levy if they were to sign him, the line would be out the door and wrapped around the
building to talk to him. However, the linebacker has been unable to remain on
the field the past two seasons, which makes him a big risk to sign following his
release from Detroit.
4. Kevin Minter – Arizona Cardinals2016 was a breakout season for Kevin Minter where he really showed what he’s capable of. He’s not an elite run defender or pass rusher at linebacker, but he
is nearing that level when it comes to dropping back into coverage. He’s a
versatile and athletic playmaker on the back end of the front seven and some
team needs to capitalize on that.
5. Gerald Hodges – San Francisco 49ersThough he’d like to forget 2015, Gerald Hodges has been an absolute beast in two of the past three seasons, one of the few bright spots in the Bay Area. He
can be a monster in stuffing the run

Cornerbacks1. Morris Claiborne – Dallas CowboysWhen some people see Morris Claiborne, they think about him being a bust. However

Venezuela’s Baseball Federation on Monday confirmed that the under-10 national team was heading to the tournament in northern Mexico.
It’s unclear if the tournament organizers will reschedule three games that were forfeited when the team missed them.
But the young players seem thrilled just to be making the journey. Prior to boarding their flight they tweeted a video thanking Cabrera for stepping in to
pay their airfare after sponsorship in the crisis-wracked nation fell

LOS ANGELES (AP) – LaVar Ball is pulling his 16-year-old son LaMelo out of his Southern California high school to be home schooled and so he can be made
into ”the best basketball player ever.”
LaVar told The Los Angeles Times that LaMelo
