China will put limits on the wild sums its clubs are spending on international soccer players

In an interview posted on the General Administration of Sport, an unnamed spokesman said the government would "regulate and restrain high-priced signings,

transfer record.

The wild spending has drawn criticism in China, with many fans asking whether the huge sums would be better spent on building up the country's lagging
infrastructure and talent in the sport.
The sports administration official said the government would "set the -upper limit" for players' transfer fees and income and control "irrational
investment."
It would consider measures such as taking fees from clubs that spend excessively to -support youth development programs. The spokesman said that

COPENHAGEN, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) has warned residents living on low-lying areas along the Baltic Sea coastline of
flooding as sea levels are expected to rise dramatically on Wednesday as a
result of stong gales, local media reported Tuesday.
"The strongest winds will be on the west coast, whereas some other places might experience strong storm-like gusts," DMI meteorologist Lars Henriksen was
quoted by Danish news agency Ritzau as saying.
The strong winds are expected to ease by midday on Wednesday, but when the winds turn north and northeast later in the day it may cause rising water levels
in the Baltic Sea.
DMI predicts sea levels to rise 1.3 to 1.8 meters and only seen once in a century.
The areas most at risk are the eastern, western and southern coastlines of every Danish islands situated in the south, along with the two main islands of
Funen and Zealand, where Copenhagen is located, according to the English
newspaper The Copenhagen Post.
DMI spokesperson Thyge Rasmussen was quoted by the paper as saying that passengers should be particularly cautious of the road conditions, and drivers
should be wary of strong gusts that could "tear down tiles and topple trees".
A Chinese wire and cable maker is buying independent studio Millennium Films, which produced "Rambo" and "The Expendables."
It's the latest acquisition in China's overseas shopping spree for entertainment companies.
Recon Holding said Thursday it is taking a 51 percent stake in Millennium for $100 million.
The company, based in Yixing near Shanghai, is controlled by Tony Xia.Xia was a little-known businessman until last year, when he bought English soccer club Aston Villa.
The terms of the deal
