Panthers left tackle Matt Kalil is missing his second straight day of practice

The Athletic, Kalil is dealing with a knee issue.
Coach Ron Rivera described yesterday’s absence as a combination of a veteran’s day off and a precaution, and it’s unclear how much the problem was a
factor Friday night.
Kalil had a few whiffs against the Dolphins

was the kind of start they can ill afford with All-Pro right tackle Daryl
Williams out for at least half the season, and left guard Amini Silatolu out
after an MCL sprain earlier in camp.
The Panthers were using 2017 second-rounder Taylor Moton at right tackle (his natural position), but shifted him to the left in practice Monday. That forced
them to further adjust on the
line

Marsh Jersey , and they’re quickly running out of options at right
tackle.
Kalil has had an up-and-down run with the Panthers since signing a five-year, $55 million contract last offseason. But he was allegedly healthy coming into
camp this year, though that apparently didn’t last long.
The Cowboys said that they would hold off making any decisions about a possible trip to injured reserve for center Travis Frederick until after they
cut their roster to 53 players on
Saturday

DiMarco Jersey , so we should know soon if Frederick will be staying on
the active roster.
On Sunday, the Cowboys made a move to add depth at the position. Center Adam Redmond was one of two successful waiver claims the team made after perusing the
list of available players on cutdown day.
Redmond was dropped by the Bills, who signed him to their practice squad last October. That came after Redmond appeared in four games with the Colts early in
the 2017 season.
Joe Looney is expected to start at center as long as Frederick is out of action. They kept Parker
Ehinger
Craig
Robertson Jersey , Cameron Fleming and Kadeem Edwards as backup linemen on
their initial roster.
The Cowboys also claimed former Texans defensive back Ibraheim Campbell. The 2015 Browns fourth-round pick played in 37 games for Cleveland and appeared in
one game for Houston after being cut by the Browns last
season.
