Last week was extremely hectic with one event following the other. The grandest of these was Mehndi Nite, a cultural show that I did for The First Asia/Pacific Women, Girls & HIV/AIDS Best Practices Conference organised by AMAL human development, the Ministry of Health and UNAIDS. Finding models at a local level is usually a trying task but this time, my search was efficiently supported by Tarash, a performing arts academy. During the auditions, I came across a number of talented fresh faces who can do wonders in the fashion industry if provided the proper grooming and styling. The concept and choreography was greatly applauded by the delegates from India, Bangladesh and other Asia/Pacific countries. Such an event of international magnitude was definitely a welcome addition to the list of my ventures in Isloo. For the main act, I had to invite a few artists from Lahore who actually carried the performance on their shoulders.
One such artist is Ahsin Khan. He is a very talented actor who has been in this business for quite some time. He has blossomed into a fine performer over the years. I know quantity does not prove the rate of success but still, quite a number of serials and soaps with him in the lead are being shown on major networks like PTV, GEO and ARY Digital. His silver screen project, Tere Bina Jiya Na Jae with Zara Sheikh and Imran Malik is also ready for release. Like Salakhain, I am sure this movie is yet another good effort for the revival of our film industry (if there is still one left!)
Recently, I was up in the mountains on a bright Sunday afternoon with a few friends visiting from Lahore and Karachi. Guess who was spotted at this picturesque place? None other than pretty boy singer Shehzad Roy, who was strolling on the foothills with a very pretty girl in tow. (Sorry to disappoint all you teenage girls out there who find his pout irresistible!) The oddest thing about this episode was that the moment he saw us, he put his hand on his face trying to hide! Now a simple suggestion: do you really think such gestures can make you invisible Mr Roy? Isloo is a very small place and every now and then, one is bound to bump into some people you know. So next time you decide to go on such an adventurous expedition in broad daylight – be prepared. Am I right darlings?
Went to see the latest Syed Noor venture called Hum Aik Hain 786. And what a nightmare it was! The movie is based on the very sensitive issue of sectarianism violence but the bad cinematography, pathetic sets and childish screenplay reduced it to a silly farce that had the audience cringing. It was a complete waste of time, effort and money (if any) spent on the project. Shah ji, its time you announced your retirement. Your creativity is getting monotonous and so is Saima’s acting.
MR NICE

Well I am surprised because I have read another review of Hum Aik Hain in Akbare-Jehan and that is very positive.
Well nowadays Syed Noor only has two things on his mind which are money and SAIMA.
He is the same director who made films like Jeeva, Sangham, Sargham, Ghunghat, Hawaain, Zever, Deewanay Teray Pyar Kay, Muhafiz, Choorian, Daku Rani and other films.

I agree in a sense, I've never actually watched a Pakistani movie, except Choorian, but they seem very degrating, looking at the way Pakistani Actresses dress now a days. It's a shame that everyone it trying to become all Westernized that they are all loosing their original roots. It's our uniqueness that separates us from the rest of the world and make us more appealing and graceful!
We shouldn't lose sight of this...
