The Cardinals are coming off a bye and momentum after their 2nd win of the season. But the Chiefs are at home and looking to wrap up the #1
overall seed in the AFC.What can we expect in Fantasy football?Let’s take a
look:Start of the Week: Kareem Hunt Cheap Mason Cole Jersey , RB, Chiefs, 2 TD’s, 125 total yardsStarting Hunt is a no-brainer these days anyway. But starting him against a Cardinals rushing attack
that, while they slowed down the Niners a few weeks ago, is still ranked 31st in
the league in rushing is basically almost foolproof. The game is also supposed to
be quite frigid and against a blitz-happy Steve Wilks defense a lot of screens
will be called.Hunt is adept at scoring long touchdowns these days so be on the
lookout for him to put up some big numbers given how Arizona is good against the
pass and, while perhaps a bit better versus the run, aren’t likely to stop Hunt
this week.Cardinals Start: Larry Fitzgerald WR, 102 yards, 1 TDFitzgerald was
targeted 12 times against the Niners under Byron Leftwich. His previous highest
total after Week 1 was only 8 times.Leftwich has gotten the Rosen to Fitzgerald
connection going to look for it to continue in Kansas City, especially if Rosen
ends up throwing the ball some 50 times.Chiefs Start: Sammy Watkins (or his
backup) 62 yards, 1 TDWhile Travis Kelce has a chance to eat against a Cardinals
defense that got shredded twice by George Kittle, their #2 wide receiver could
see some big-time targets if Arizona goes back to the Minnesota game in how they
played defense against a high-volume passing offense.Patrick Peterson was
matched up on Stefon Diggs the majority of the time (a break from Wilks’ zone
defensive scheme) and Adam Thielen was able to eat on the outside or from the
slot when he was matched up occasionally by a linebacker.Even if Watkins can’t
go, if Wilks sells out to stop Tyreek Hill, it’s possible Sammy gets some
work. That said....given how Patrick Peterson was burned just last game for a
55-yard TD by the speedy Marquise Goodwin, you should start Hill in your lineups
no matter what.Cardinals Sit: Jermaine Gresham, TE 0 catches, 0 yardsYou’re not
starting Gresham anyways but this is less about a certain player and more about
the game.If the Cardinals run the ball effectively with David Johnson http://www.cardinalsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-mike-iupati-jersey , they’ll be working to keep the Chiefs offensive off the field. If Kansas City
gets off to an early start and the Chiefs keep rolling (more likely), Arizona
will be throwing the ball a ton, involving Fitz, DJ, Seals-Jones and Kirk.Chad
Williams isn’t going to go today so that could mean more 11 personnel sets for
Arizona all day long rather than spreading it out wide. The player who I’d be
curious about sitting? It’d be Rosen. If the game quickly gets out of hand and
with Justin Houston and Dee Ford back in the fold along with Chris Jones rushing
from the interior, I’d be curious if Rosen ends up repeating the Broncos game on
the road if Arizona gets outmatched. That said, the opportunity for him to end up
with a ton of passing stats seems too much given the previous history of teams
against this 2018 Chiefs Defense...and I think I have a lot more faith in Byron
Leftwich coming off of two weeks to prepare than I do with Mike McCoy on 3 days
rest against a much better Broncos defense.Chiefs Sit: Chris Conley, WR, 2
catches, 24 yardsWith Budda Baker likely playing Sunday and Sammy Watkins
practicing, I’d look to the Chiefs 3rd option as the one who doesn’t get the
fantasy points unless Sammy is listed as OUT.There’s simply too much talent at
all the positions ahead of Conley and Arizona’s secondary will likely have Baker
and Tre Boston both in and there’s likely not enough room for a 4th target to
profit with all the guys seemingly healthy in front of him.In Summary:While
Arizona’s clearly an inferior offense, it’s basically all systems go for the
majority of fantasy players this week in a game that, while it might not be
high-scoring for Arizona, could see either some garbage time stats or, possibly,
something to build on from the previous week as the offense will once again run
through Fitzgerald and Johnson with Kirk involved either in the redzone or for a
big play down the field. You can follow @blakemurphy7 on Twitter. Wally Triplett,
a big-play threat for the Detroit Lions who became one of pro football’s first
black stars before cutting his career short to serve in the Korean War, has died
at the age of 92.A star athlete growing up in La Mott Corey Peters Jersey , Pennsylvania, Triplett got a football scholarship to Penn State. Although he had played for a mostly white high school team and
been accepted, he felt the sting of racism in college in 1946, when he learned
that he wasn’t welcome to play a scheduled game against Miami because Miami was
a segregated school that demanded that Penn State play without Triplett and a
black teammate, Dennie Hoggard. The rest of Penn State’s players voted to cancel
the game rather than play without their two black teammates. In 1948, Triplett
became the first African-American to play in the previously segregated Cotton
Bowl, although he had to stay in a separate facility from the rest of his
teammates because no hotels in the Dallas area would allow blacks and whites to
stay together. Triplett scored the final touchdown in a 13-13 tie with
SMU.Triplett was drafted by the Lions in 1949, the first year that any
African-American players were selected in the NFL draft. And that fall he became
the first of those drafted players to play for his team. But racism followed him
to the NFL.“I remember staying in a different hotel than my white teammates in
Green Bay,” Triplett told the Detroit News years later, “and the walls were thin. When the people in the next room said to each other, ‘You know there
are Negroes next to us,’ we clearly heard it. . . . That was typical America
back then, a different world. It’s hard to describe it to people who didn’t
experience what we had to.”But despite those challenges, turning down the NFL
wasn’t a consideration for Triplett when he found out the Lions were offering
him a whopping $4,800 salary, the equivalent of about $50,000 today.“My father
worked 12 months a year for a salary of $3,600 Authentic Deone Bucannon Jersey ,” Triplett said. “My first contract was for $4,800. So he told me, ‘Sign it, boy. They’re going to pay you to play.'”A
runner, receiver and return man, Triplett had one of the greatest kickoff return
performances in NFL history in a game against the Los Angeles Rams in 1950. In
that game, Triplett returned four kickoffs, for distances of 97, 81, 74 and 42
yards. His average of 73.5 yards per kickoff return remains the NFL single-game
record.Just two weeks later, Triplett would be sent to begin his service to the
U.S. Army in the Korean War. He spent two years in the Army and when he returned
from military service he was traded to the Chicago Cardinals. He played in just
six games over two seasons for the Cardinals before retiring. After retiring
Triplett returned to the Detroit area and became a teacher, and he remained a
Lions fan — albeit a frustrated one. As the Lions slumped into last place under
team President Matt Millen, Triplett ripped the team.“It’s embarrassing,”
Triplett told the New York Times in 2006. “Millen is a nice guy, but he just can’t handle the job. The fans have the right to put the paper bags over
their heads. They’re crying to get a better situation.”Triplett had strong
opinions about football that he continued to express into his 90s. And although
he was an African-American trailblazer, he didn’t agree with the decision of
several African-American players to kneel during the national anthem. In 2016,
when he was 90 years old, he told MLive.com that he thought those kneeling
players should stand.“It’s ridiculous to me Youth Chandler Jones Jersey ,” he said. “Why bring up something like that when you’re getting benefits? I was confused; what are you protesting? In other
words, if you’re going to be a ball player, be a ball player and play ball. See,
that’s the way it goes. If you don’t want to be a ball player, don’t go there,
don’t pull on the jock strap. That’s the way I feel about it.”Triplett
understood racism better than most, but he had little patience for political
correctness. He said he never liked the way language was policed, and he
preferred to be referred to as “Negro” over “black” or “African-American.”“My
forefathers were Negro slaves,” he told the Detroit News in 2015. “I am a Negro male. It’s how I am described on my birth certificate. I know it offends
some people, but I won’t be pleased if you call me anything else in what you
write about me.”Triplett can be called many things: A trailblazer, a great
football player, a war hero, and a legend.
