National Accountability Bureau is the apex anti corruption organization of Pakistan, and it has the responsibility to eliminate the corruption by creating the holistic approach of awareness, prevention and the enforcement of law. This department was established under National Accountability Ordinance 1999 and its headquarters is present in Islamabad and it has maintained its four regional offices in provincial capitals. NAB established its efforts against corruption and it prepares the national economic intelligence assessment against the economic terrorism and uproots corruption from the government offices and withholds the involved persons. The authority is given to NAB to undertake necessary awareness and prevention of corruption and illegal use of amount and enforces the operations and efforts against the people involved in the financial crimes and economic terrorism. This department functions under the constitution of Pakistan, which empowers it to launch the investigation of corruption cases, conduct inquiries, and issues of the arrest of the suspected persons, who are considered involved in the corruption cases. The corruption cases are investigated and the case is sent to the accountability courts for further action on these cases. It has established its provincial offices in the capitals of four provinces and they hold the cases of their relevant provinces at the provincial levels.
