Now Ajay & Salman festival

It's high time our stars woke up to reality. Ideally, an A-list star should've a maximum of two/three releases in one calendar year in order to maintain their magnetism and charisma at the box-office. But some of our stars don't believe in exercising restraint. At the rate their films are being scheduled for release, it'll only prove detrimental for their career.

Ajay Devgan is going to have as many as four releases in the next one-and-a-half months: INSAN [this week], BLACKMAIL [January 28], MAIN AISA HI HOON [February 4] and ZAMEER [the date will be confirmed shortly]. Besides, there's TANGO CHARLIE in March and KAAL in April. That makes it six releases in four months.

2004 witnessed the release of four Salman Khan starrers one after the other. While GARV and MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI took a fabulous start at the ticket window, the next two, PHIR MILENGE and DIL NE JISE APNA KAHAA, went completely unnoticed.

A similar situation is likely to arise in the first four months of 2005, with four Salman starrers releasing back to back. While SHAADI KARKE PHAS GAYA YAAR is slated for release in February, Priyadarshan's film with Salman-Kareena as well as David Dhawan's film with Salman-Sushmita-Katrina will hit the marquee in March/April. Also, LUCKY, produced by brother Sohail Khan in association with Bhushan and Kishan Kumar, will make it in March/April. That makes it four films in two months!

Let's hope the stars in question drill sense in their producers and space out the releases because this kind of over-exposure leads only to doom!
