When the twin obsessions of India, cricket and cinema decide to pitch it out, fans are in for a bonanza. Bowling genius Kapil Dev and Bollywood bright star Aamir Khan have decided to play a charity match, the proceeds of which will find its way to the Prime Ministers National relief fund.
What does the cricketing legend feel about playing non-cricketers like Aamir and Salman? “I am too old to play professional cricket anymore, so this suits me just fine” humors the paaji. “On a serious note, I think since this is for a good cause, we should come together and contribute to it” he adds. And is there a particular figure that he is zeroing at? “Well, not really. The thought, the deed is most important, the amount will work itself out,” he says with good-natured sincerity. “I hope people come in droves to watch the match. It will do good to the thousands who have been hurt in the tragedy”
Brawny boys of Bollywood, Suniel Shetty, Farhan Akhtar, Salman Khan (he's known to play some good cricket), John Abraham will also throw in a few balls to keep the spirits going. While beauties like Malaika Arora and Lara Dutta are there to cheer the match. The Wankhede is being readied for the match on 28th of this month.
