While Office 365 offers a variety of tools that are available through most any Internet browser, many companies will still elect to use desktop versions of the popular Office programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. These desktop versions of Office are included at no additional cost with several of the Office 365 Business Plans.
If you’re in the middle of attempting to install a desktop version of Office 365 and are running into issues, check out this FAQ that we’ve put together that should hopefully ease some of your pain.
I don’t know which account to use to sign in.If you have an O365 Home, Personal or University account, you’ll use the email address and password associated with your personal copy of Office. And because you can use an email address to make a Microsoft account, it may be your primary email address (Outlook.com,Hotmail.com, Gmail.com).
If you have a work or school account (O365 for Business or Education), you’ll need the username and password that you created or that someone created for you.
How do I know that I have the correct operating system?Office will not work with Windows XP or Windows Vista. Make sure your system meets the [u]
minimum requirements[/u] to run Office.
Why is Office taking so long to install?- Make sure that Office hasn’t already been installed

- Temporarily turn off your antivirus software to see if that makes a difference

- Restart your computer and attempt to install Office over a wired connection

- Uninstall Office and attempt to reinstall

The Office install failed without any specific error.You may need to uninstall Office and reinstall if you’re experiencing this behavior. If you’re using Windows, Microsoft has a [u]
Fix it tool [/u]that you can use to help uninstall Office. If this tool isn’t able to remove Office you’ll need to [u]manually remove it[/u].
A message is indicating that another installation is in progress.If you experience this error, it’s best to first restart your computer. If that doesn’t fix the problem you’ll want to [u]
manually stop the OfficeclickTorun.exe task using Task Manager[/u].
The Install button doesn’t work.If the Install button doesn’t work, it could be because of several issues:
- Office may already be installed on your machine.
