its harder knowing that someone else knows of your wrong doings than urself, because no one is ready to judge themselves but can judge someone else, so they are worried about being judged. (does that make any sense?

BTW, we dislike embarrassment. We may feel bad after having done wrong but the embarrassment of being caught of wrong doing is like adding insult to injury.

Feeling of guilt and shame topped with embarrassment can be overwhelming that's why we hate getting caught of wrong doing.

Hope in the Mercy, after being caught by Allah, is much greater than with the people. We hope for pardon and seek forgiveness from Allah because He's oft forgiving. While we fear punishment and embarrassment at the hands of people.

Fearing God, Allah, who's unseen, who's punishment and rewards are unseen, gaurantees safegaurd against fear, embarrassment, punishment...here and hereafter -- that is the essence of believe.

Sall, how did you conclude there lies no harm in sinning, there sure is: talking bad about someone, cursing at some one, stealing, deceiving, murder, rape... what's all this then? No matter what one feels after that, crime once committed is like a crack in the mirror you can't ever fix it.
