Mumbai, May 13: After Pakistan actress Meera`s foray into Indian films, it will be her compatriot Sana Nawaz who would feature in `Kafila - the mission` that explores the theme of illegal immigrants.
A story of the mad rush of people opting to leave their motherland in search of dreams of better life abroad in developed countries, the movie strives to portray the dark side of illegal immigration.
`Kafila` is based on extensive research and real life experiences and tries to talk about illegal immigration that affects millions of Asians and Indian, director Ammtoje Mann told reporters here today.
The film, whose cast includes actor Sunny Deol, Sudesh Beri, Ashish Duggal and artists from Bulgaria and Uzbekistan, would be shot in Mumbai, parts of North India, Ladakh, Uzbekistan, Bulgaria and areas along the Indo-Pak border, Mann, whose earlier work includes "Hawayein", a film on Blue Star operation, said.
Speaking on the occasion, Sana said she is happy with her role in the film. To repeated queries to comment on the controversy over Meera in some raunchy scenes in Mahesh Bhatt`s forthcoming film "Nazar", she said her country is not as narrow minded or conservative as believed.
"If Meera was comfortable doing the film, I find no reason, why it is being discussed," she said.
"No one has said anything to Meera", Sana said wondering why the media is making a hue and cry over a non-serious issue and raking up more publicity.
Asked whether she was open to shooting intimate scenes. "I will not compromise", she added.
