Corded and cordless lawnmowers never require much maintenance apart from proper and regular clean-ups. On the other hand, gas propelled mowers need regular lookup to work in a perfect condition for a long time. So, service a gas mower at the end of each season or after it crosses 25 hours of running. You will find the servicing guidelines with the mower when you purchase it. Reading the instructions and guidelines will help you to know
the machine and find the right replacement parts. Afterwards, follow the given steps
1. Remove the spark plug: Carry out any servicing or repair work only when the engine is cold. Remove the spark plug and make sure that the throttle is off.
2. Clean the product: Use a rag and a soft brush to remove the dirt, debris, or dust build-up. Check beneath the mower to find any grasses or any other obstacle. Cleaning the grasses is necessary because they can lead to rust and hence impact the durability of your machine.
3. Check the air filter: Remove the cover from the air filter and try to clean it with a brush, if it exhausted and you
cannot wipe the screen, then replacement is the only option left.
4. Inspect the blade: Check the edges and make sure that they are not very blunt or damaged. Wear protective gloves while checking them. Only sharp blades give you the desired cutting results. So, either sharpen or replace them if you find any damage.
5. Check the oil. If you are servicing the four-stroke engine, check the oil. Remove the cap and check the oil with a dipstick. If the oil level is low, top it's up. If you find it black and dirty, you need to replace the engine oil.
6. Tighten any loose nut bolts and check the spark plug if it's working correctly.
