Pakistan film industry is on decline. The number of productions has gone down in recent years. But even in this time of crisis some filmmakers are coming up with new ventures claiming that they want to revive the industry. These filmmakers including Ajab Gul, Reema and Jawed Sheikh are all working for their own vested interests and not for the revival of film industry.
"Jawed, Ajab and Reema are not working in this industry. If they are sincere with the industry why do not they work in films other than their own. They are not contributing to the industry in any way.
"They make movies only to project themselves or to make some quick bucks. None of them is a professional filmmaker devoted to their work like the filmmakers of good old days like Rangeela and Nazarul Islam.
"Ajab Gul has come up with 'Kyon tum say itna pyar hai' to boost his sagging career. He has built the whole film around his own role," Saud said.
About the other films being churned out in the industry, he said only two kinds of flicks were being produced. "One category is of bad films and the other is of worse movies. We the artistes have to decide between the two categories," he said. Saud is acting in underproduction films 'Lahori Shahzaday', 'Zidi Rajput', 'Majajan' and 'Tarap'.
Saud has recently come back from Canada after completing the shooting of a 13-episode TV drama serial 'Sookhay patay'. Gul Hameed is producer and Khalid Khan is the director of the play. The cast also includes Suresh Oberoi, Suneita Marshall, Farah Shah, Uzma Gillani and Ayub Khosa. The play is about the different problems that South Asian families settled in Canada have to face and how they cope with the western society lifestyles. The play, which is based on some real life stories, has been shot in Toronto. Saud plays the role of a taxi driver.

Saud does have a point but it may also be a case of sour grapes. In recent times he has only had a part in one big blockbaster film which was Salakhain because Tarap has not been released yet.
