In addition to a professional system for processing online sales, it is important - especially for well-known brands - to perfectly stage the content (such as brand messages, campaigns, or news) in the online shop. A demanding balancing act that is possible with Magento and the associated page builder. We show how - with a video tutorial and website for SEO services.

Insight into the Page Builder
The in-house content management system Page Builder from Magento has been firmly integrated into the Magento core for a few weeks. The extensive CMS is reserved for users of Magento Commerce and, contrary to the first announcements, did not come with the version update Magento 2.3.0, but with the smaller update 2.3.1. on March 26, 2019.
One of the great advantages of the Magento Page Builder is the direct visual representation of the content that the user is currently working on. For example, the image in the website banner can be simply exchanged using drag-drop - including editing the text on the banner in real-time. In addition to the drag-drop function and the direct visual preview, the CMS has many other features in its luggage.

All the highlights of the Page Builder at a glance
Direct visual preview: Changes are shown in real-time (based on the WYSIWYG principle).
Flexible grid system: elements can be widened simply by dragging a column - the other elements are made smaller automatically.
Easy integration of media: external media content, e.g. from YouTube or Vimeo.
Google Maps integration: Map sections or route descriptions can be integrated and used directly on a website.
Simplified product slider: Based on product attributes - such as the same category or certain price limits - product sliders can be created and integrated with just a few clicks.
Structure using board means: elements such as banners, sliders, buttons, images, dividers help to set up a landing page with board means.
Intuitive drag-drop operation: Individual elements can be added and structured by dragging with the mouse. This also applies to uploading media files such as pictures.

In view of this list of highlights, another (especially for users), an important advantage of page images becomes clear: websites and individual landing pages can be easily created and edited with the tool - without any programming knowledge.
Thanks to the grid system behind it, every one can simply divide the page into columns and thus assemble their optimal layout. Without running the risk of the layout being shot up afterward. Because the responsive template remains in place at all times.

The perfect combination: Page Builder and Content Staging
Content creation becomes very exciting when the user uses the Magento feature "Content Staging" in addition to the Page Builder. Magento offers the possibility of creating every update of a page or a product in advance, making it available to others for preview and planning in advance. Shop operators can, for example, prepare a season change in advance: All affected pages and products are changed beforehand and the update of these products is scheduled for a specific point in time. The pages are then automated on the selected date.
With each update, CMS pages, CMS blocks, products, categories, but also shopping cart price rules or catalog price rules can be updated at the same time. That is why this content staging is also interesting for product launches, marketing campaigns, sales campaigns, or for the implementation of internal approval processes for certain pages.
Extensions are also possible
As described, the Magento Page Builder offers many standard elements. Should a user want additional elements for a landing page, these can easily be developed by a Magento service provider. By setting up your own standard elements, clear templates are established for the content manager, which is particularly advantageous for the workflow.
