The festival committee and the City of Avon have announced that “we have collectively made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 Avon
Heritage Duck Tape Festival. In place of this year’s festival, we are
excited to announce the return of the Duck Tape Sculpture Scavenger Hunt
this summer.”
The free, citywide scavenger hunt will feature “larger-than-life duct tape sculptures crafted by the Art Academy of Cincinnati artists,”
according to news release information. No date or details for the
scavenger hunt have been announced.Last year’s sculptures, reflective of
the theme “City of Blooms,” were placed near Avon schools, parks and
city buildings. Among the featured sculptures were a 12-foot-tall water
tower, a human-sized honeycomb and honeybee photo booth, and voice-tube
flowers at Every Child’s Playground.
Participants completed the scavenger hunt last fall at their own pace over a four-week period for a chance to win products and gift card
prizes up to $1,000.
