well firstly it is not necessary that nudity makes a good film. look at oscar nominated lagaan, swades, etc.. etc..we pakistani not having any education in the art of film making etc have started thinking awarapan makes a good film. no. good story, good acting, got film making is what makes a good fim. but since apni cheez hai to ussay neglect to nahi kar saktay. just like a parent still loves an ugly child, cos its theirs. so we should not dis it,nut encourage our actors and industry whereveer and however we can and just be patient. allah kabhi na kabhi to sunnay ga.

First of all.Our TV channels should give our Cinema some slot.I mean why not start a half hr trailor prgram on GEO??Viewers will watch it..then they will be excited about film...Promotions actually work. Most of the films are released but no one knows it because lack of promotion.Second,Acting + Music this is actually important.Every one knows there is Music Craze in India too and if it is good people buy it..Pakistani POP is a Big Succes round the Globe and if Films find the same thing in few years we will be big.Our prints are already good.
We Need first of all..Good Story+Direction+Acting+Music+Promotions..and then release the movie and check the result out!!.

I think it's because the industry lacks technique and originality, the scripts are so rubbish and formula based.
A better question would be: what makes a good movie? If you make a list you'll realise that Pakistani films don't have those qualities. It's not about money (which is just something the film makers blame when their movie flops) because low bugdet foriegn films have been hits (like the Bliar Witch Project)
Some things which make a good movie are:
1)A lot of style put into the picture. Constant cuts and shifts of the scene are a must; without the changing angles and shots you'd get pretty bored.
2) A good film has to have a good sound job. If it doesn't, it may be the most impressively visual film EVER, but if it sounds like crap, then it's really not going to work for me. Sound effects are the single most important parts of films.
3) Pans, tracking shots and zooms are helpful things as well, because they can add dimension to the film. Also, with a pan in the right place, you almost feel like you're actually in the film.
4) Movies require depth. That normally starts in the script, which has to have a beginning, middle and end. If it doesn't, the movie will suck.

The South Atlantic island St Helena is in the South Atlantic Ocean, about midway between South America and Africa.
Things which would make Lollywood better would be firstly getting a new name for the industry. c'mon Lollywood??? Hollywood is named that because of the holly plants orginally there, India copied it to Bollywood and Pakistanis copied India - there's no orginal thought!
Better dance numbers, Lollywood actors dance either like idiots or w*ores. Get choreography from people who know how to really dance.
Midnless violence sells, but pointless killing is so pathetic and shows the backward mentality of the director.
Clothes/costume, stop copying India! it's okay to be inspired by other people but use your own designes and remember your audiance is mainly muslim.
New faces, everyone knows about the pakistani actress scandel, they are w*ores who politicians have called for a night over the years. Clean up the industry and get people who are talented like they used to be in the 70s with Shabnum and Nadeem.
Good script, please please please stop remaking the formula movie over and over again.

the same here and someone complained about that our actrices wears sari's...whats wrong wid that? i see enuff pakistani aunties wearing sari's, so whats wrong if lollywood allows that too?
apart from this, story should also be different, its should not only based on love stories.. and for god sake, directors should give chances to our own pakistani singers to sing for lollywood why using indian singers..?

chrizmatic i disagree with u on this point that stories must b different.in past if someone has tried to ta take some different subjects they got pathetic responce from ppl.like Laj'Babu'Janat ki talash n others.look at the literacy rate here.secondly educated ppl doesnt come out to watch the film on very first day.its that uneducated audience that decide wether the film is hit or flop.agar un ko samaj ae gi to film chale gi.Rauf khalid was saying that my film was flop coz this kind of audience.n nobody want to loose his money.filmmaking is bussiness.first of all lollywood have to take out educated audience from home n make thir habbit to watch films in routine.then parellel cinema or art movies can b made for intellectual audiences.ppl r still not interested in local films.most of the ppl dont know which good films r coming.we badly need to make hype of our industry n that lack also coz all the channels n news papers r bussy in promoting indian film industry.

well i agree wid u on literacy rate and all that but let me tell u one thing that u make a different movie wid different subject and promote it agressively on print and electronic media then i can bet the educated class will also come and watch those films u talked abt laaj well laaj was a different film for sure but the promotion was really poor and thats why the film went unnoticed, babu and jannat ki talash were poor movies technically the sound and picture was pathetic so how can u expect the people to watch these kinda movies, film making is an art but u need to promote ur product as well u have an example of ajab gul's kyun tumse itna pyar the movie was high on face value although the script and screenplay was not that gr8 but still the movie emerged as one of the biggest hits of the year jus cuz of agressive promotion.

Exactly you need to aim for the audiance, i.e. make a film the auidiance will be able to understand. Just because first day viewers are uneducated it doesn't make them stupid. However showing them stupid mindless movies proves that the filmakers are idiots.
A movie has to have a good story, be it a romantic/action/horror, it has to be scripted properly with good dialouge and that doesn't mean saying over used sentences like "aker app kahena kya chatay hain?"

u have valid points n i completely agree with u but i will again say this that it will take time that educated audience will watch cinema regularly.our media is not supporting film industry at all.n one has to put lots of money 4 publicity.only few big bugdets film r being made.look at punjabi films still inpar jahil loog love to watch saima like they loved sultan rahi n anjuman.
