The NHS Covid contact tracing app used in ???????????? England and Wales could be made less sensitive to reduce the number of people being encouraged to self-isolate.The app determines the distance between users and the time spent in the immediate vicinity - currently 2 meters or less, but more than 15 minutes.
A source close to Health Minister Sajid Javid said he was considering change amid the overwhelming number of warnings.Ministry of Health said the app "is and always has been a recommendation. The system allows people who test positive to share their test anonymously by triggering alerts for those who have been identified as close contact a few days before the test.
According to current regulations, those who receive a warning are asked to stay at home for up to 10 days.
The hospitality industry and NHS trusts warned MPs that the impact on the economy and jobs could be huge, as it could lead millions of people to be asked to isolate themselves this summer.Dr Jenny Harris, head of Britain's new Health Safety Agency,on Thursday that she "knew people would rather not use the app"
when asked about the issues people remove to avoid "ping".We are seeing an increase in the number of cases, so this is not an inconvenience, but actually a warning to people that they have been in close contact and that they may be at risk of getting infected themselves and passing this infection on to others.
