The song Salli tu maani nahin, kabhi to manegi... will soon be incorporated in a Hindi film. Confirming the news, Pakistan based singer Shehzad Roy said, “Yes, there are talks on with a production house but it is too early to say anything. Hom Records are going to look into it. In fact, it is Hom that is going to be looking after my work in Mumbai.” Roy is in Mumbai to promote his album Salli. The title song Salli stirred up a controversy in Pakistan. Informs Roy, “Few people thought that the kids were singing an abusive word that sounds similar to Saali, but it had nothing to do with the song. Salli means one’s wife’s sister in Urdu, it is a relationship that is a part of our culture and that’s what I am talking about in my song. Some organizations took a legal action against me for having used that word in my song. But finally I won the case.” He continues, “This is my second visit to Bombay. I feel it is like mini New York. The people here are warm and nice. In fact, my father was born in Bombay. My grandfather Nazir Roy worked with the British. It was only after the partition that we moved to Karachi.”
