In an attempt to jazz up its current programme line-up, DM Digital Gold has acquired a batch of new Pakistani movies to showcase on its channel.
It has struck a deal with a Lollywood (Pakistan film industry) production house. It has already finalised the telecast of 500 classic films, majority of which will air for the first time in the UK and Europe.
DM Digital Gold has also confirmed to Biz Asia that it will air at least 15 new classic films a week, in view of recent demand from viewers.
Some of the movies the channel has acquired are 'Bhola Jutt' and 'Aashki Khial Naheen'. The movies will begin rolling out from June onwards.
DM Digital Gold will also be premiering a new sitcom 'Andher Nagri' from June/July. This will be the first comedy drama based on Pakistani politicians.
Also starting on the channel will be a drama based on true stories –‘Khuyoon’. There are ten independent stories to be shown every Tuesday at 19:00.
Furthermore, DM Digital has reason to celebrate; according to channel officials its forthcoming service DM Islam has received an overwhelming response from advertisers and viewers. DM Islam launches on Sky Digital on Monday 17th July.
