Hoping for the best

Sangeeta is keeping her fingers crossed on getting the censor certificate for her film Tarap which stars Indian actress Sheeba Bagri in the lead. The director is apprehensive since she fears a backlash against all those who have used Indian stars in their films, after Feroz Khan was blacklisted by the Pakistan government for his subversive comments while promoting the film Taj Mahal: An Eternal Love Story in Pakistan. Sangeeta hopes her film will get past the censor board on grounds of the cultural exchange policy initiated between India and Pakistan in recent months. Tarap - which has some scenes shot in Dubai - stars new actor Babrak in the lead.

Ready to wait

Nisha says she is prepared to wait for good roles to come her way, instead of going on a signing spree. The actress has got many offers after gaining praise from critics who saw snatches of her soon-to-be-released film Aatish, directed by Iqbal Kashmiri. Nisha is also of the view that she is a good TV actress and wishes to exploit television serial roles when she has the chance.

Readying for his debut

Momy Rana has signed on Resham for his debut directorial, but as yet untitled, film venture. Rana struck upon the idea of direction after working in Reema's first directorial venture Koi Tujh Sa Kahan. The film however won't be the first venture in which Rana will be calling the shots as he is producing a television serial too.

Being different for a cause

Nazo plays the role of the famous woman bandit Daro Barchi in an untitled film. The actress accepted the role in the biopic as she felt it was different from the crop of Pushto films she has previously starred in. Most of her past ventures have received a poor response and Nazo feels her role of Barchi, a wronged woman seeking retribution, could be her shot at fame.

Learning the right dance

Aiman is learning kathak (a classical dance form) to adapt to the demands of dance numbers that require knowledge of classical dance. The actress says she has committed many faults in her dance sequences in past films and wishes to set things straight by practising dance. Kathak, she feels, is a dance form that meets her requirements.
