Did you know that people consider this day to be unlucky based on these factors?
1.Jesus Christ was crucified on a Friday
2.The number 13 is associated with Judas Iscariot, the apostle who betrayed Christ
3.and another thing is that witches gather in groups of 13

triskaidekaphobia refers to the general fear of the number 13,but there's also a technical name for the specific fear of the day Friday the 13th,this is paraskavedekatriaphobia

In the old days:specifically in France, quatorziens were people who hired themsleves as the 14th guest to social functions to avoid any bad luck
and people burned holey socks on mountaintops, and ate gristle while standing on their heads,to keep themselves safe on this day.
If these ideas seem a little much, you'd be surprised that people these days are just as supersticious, for instance:
I'm sure you've noticed that in major cities many otis elevators skip the 13th floor.Even buildings with more than 13 floors automatically skip from 12 to 14 so that there is no thirteenth floor.
A study on friday the 13th by the British medical journal concludes that it is recommended that people stay home.Although the sudy doesn't claim the day is inherently evil,it does note that car accidents increase as much as 52% on this day
$800m- $900 million are lost on this day because many people refuse to travel, shop, and do business.
