I was on shooting of this film in Dubai about 3 years ago. In March 2006 I was at the Editing/Dubbing of this film with my cousin Arbaz (as he is playing villain in it). They have delayed it alot. I think there are some indian actors in it too. And originally the film was named as THE SHEIKH.
And yes the film is releasing this FRIDAY 8th December,06. As far as I know the producer was an ARAB , I dont know how Shehzad Gul became the producer. This Arab guy is a businessman in Dubai. Thats all for now.

I dont know why they changed the name of the film. I think the original name "THE SHEIKH" might not attract the Lollywood Audience. I m sure the film has different title for different languages. The Sheikh is for English Language. For Farsi and Arabic it has different titles.

Well Faisal rehman started his career in films in the early 1980s and he had a record 7 or 8 consecutive hits. He acted in about in about 20 odd films and was successful before at the end of the 1980s he moved Canada.
Since coming in the mid 1990s he has acted in TV plays mostly except for couple of films one being Shaan's Guns and Roses.
Waapsi does like a good film. What will be interesting is how closely is the film based on the original story.

Well thnx for sharing the poster..i saw it in Jang it was big enough so it may had caught da attention of the readers and Jang is the most read newspapaer too! But why there is no publicity? Well the film mite flop becuz it will be screened at Prince Cinema,at which families dont go often.Families go to Universe Cineplex becuz thts a Familie-Only Cinema!Well when i visted to cineplex to watch Tarap they had the poster of Waapsi in the Coming Attractions! But now i dont know why they have backed out! If thiz film is rlsed in Cineplex probably it will do business...the AAM Awam wont like it becuz its an novel film and dosent have the masala which usually our local movies does.... But abhi bhi time hai...if they only show trailers of the movie on GEO AND AAJ they can improve thier business!

well let me tell u one thing that either its releasing in cineplex or not wont make any difference, for the time being it is releasing in prince cinema only(talking abt karachi)but if the movie is good its gonna catch the attention of the viewers for sure i still remember yeh dil apka huwa was released in only two theaters in karachi but just after one week the film was on in four major theaters so word of mouth can make a huge difference but it all depend on the quality of the movie.

hm..so it's finally gonna b out..! let's hope that it turns out to be a massive hit like other shahzad gul movies. Remember Tere Pyar Mein, there were no major advertisements, no posters but it eventually turned out to be biggest hit of 2000. I m not sure where are they showing this in Rawalpindi??
