tl;dr - so I found a piece of "crappy old" furniture my parents had is actually a bit of sought-after vintage mid-century furniture which is selling refurbished for a lot more than we thought it was worth.

What's they'll best way to get the most out of this without 1) refurbishing myself or 2) dealing with buyers, shipping etc.?

-------------

So we're moving my parents from the apartment they downsized to four years ago to a smaller independent livong place. When they moved out of their house they sold the table and chairs that came as a set with a buffet, but kept the buffet.

Now it has to go...so I set about taking pictures and planning to throw it up cheap on FB marketplace to get it go.
It has nice dovetail construction and is very solid. It always seemed dated to me, as they bought it used in the early 70s.

During the photos, I noticed a tag inside the top drawer.
Hmmm...a quick Google search found identical restored pieces selling for ~$4K, and dealers looking for them.

This one's not in terrible shape at all, but would stand a cleaning up and a few dings, scratches and fades worked put. So it needs refurbishing to fetch top dollar.

None of us has the skills, time or patience to redo it. Any none of us knows fuck-all about old, nicer furniture, as evidenced by the fact I was seconds from listing it for about $100 on Facebook when I caught this info.

But I'd like to help my parents get as much as they can for it, and I'm not sure if trying to sell it privately (and where and how) vs. finding a dealer, consignment shop, or other means is the best way.

We need to have it gone by the end of next month when their lease is up, so languishing for a long time on a listing isn't an option.

And of you all that do know shit about things like this have any ideas? It's in central Virginia.

(Not putting a picture on here since I'm not trying to sell it here...so no "buy an ad!" calls, please!)
