Trust is a fickle thing
With enough, it can make
You heart sing
Without enough, it can make
Your heart bleed
To have someone’s trust
There is no higher honor
To not be trusted, can hurt
More than any words can say
While it can take years to gain
It can be lost in the blink of
An eye
One wrong word, or action,
Or event, can make your
Trust go away

Losing your trust in someone
Can hurt you more than
What it was that caused
Your trust to be lost
Someone losing their trust
In you, can be just as bad
Makes you wonder if you ever
Deserved their trust you had

When trust is lost, where
Does it go? Will it return?
No one really knows
It can be returned with
Some thought and some care
Or it can be lost forever
Like it was never there
Trust is something that
Should truly be treasured
For without it, for people
What standard is there to
Measure

Without trust there is no
Friendship
Without trust there is no
Love
Without trust there is no
Fun
Without trust there is only
