Soon after waking
My wife started baking
And said she would pull out all stops.
So soon we could eat
A really nice treat
Muffins, but only the tops.
I was bemused
And somewhat confused
With these thoughts, that I now confide.
For if she should stop
At only the top,
Then what’s on the other side?
I certainly should laugh
To have only one half
Of a whole, which is the sum of its parts.
I now here report
That it would be far too short
To have ends without any starts.
Because of this riddle
I removed this poems middle
So I can follow these muffin top trends.
To make matters worse,
I’ve written this verse,
Like a sausage, which always has two ends.
