Shadows Of Time Creep

Fragmented pieces of my life
long forgotten hope lay fallen
as piece by piece it shattered
blown dust in the wind....

The hour glass has emptied,
left but a clear view of nothing
as the shadows of time creep
disappearing with the sand.

Eyes weep into collected pools
reflecting never-ending agony
falling tears cast like stones
sorrowful ripples of pain spread.

My heart's stillness sounds cold
absent of love and warmth
unattended it withers and dies
no one to care, it cries in silence.

Heartache, an unwelcome visitor
came to rule the day and stayed
swallowing the last pittance
of any hope, that I mattered.
