I believe Pakistan has elections coming up towards the end of this year.
1. How does the system work? I mean you have national/provincial elections etc?
2. How many parties are out there?
3. Which party you think has the chance to win?
4. Which party you think deserves to win?
5. What is your opinion of ruling party?

Well, if the privatisation is bringing results, why not go for it? From what I have heard, every company that has gone from under Govt Control to Private Group's control all of a sudden has started showing profits. I wonder why?????? .

Well, he may have good intentions, but he is not going to be able to have a land slide victory. He does not even have candidates in every part of the country. So, lets say for some reason, he wins all of his seats, and gets some parties to join him to make the Govt. He still will not be able to do anything. He will be at the mercy of his ministers who happen to be from different parties with different agenda than his.

1.Yea both National Assembly and provincial Assemblies.
2.As many as you can count.
3.Elections are free so who ever Musharraf favours will win most probably PML-Q wins the most seats and forms a government or worst case they win enough seats that no government will be formed without them.
4.NoNe.i will still voe .
5.Answered in 3.thats it no more no less King's Partyor what ever .

if present crisis continues,i dont think elections will be held as scheduled.many think we are heading towards martial-law. 1-and yes we have national as well as provincial election system. 2-i think there are 3 major political parties/alliances...A.R.D,M.M.A and P.M.L-Q plus M.Q.M,besides there are nationalist parties and ofcourse tehrik-e-insaaf. 3-most likely if elections are held at all, there is going to be a split mandate, coz that suits the establishment most. 4-MMA+PML-N+TEHRIK-E-INSAAF 5-ruling party is a cocktail of power hungry politicians, some of them were forced to change their loyalities after the previous elections but a majority willingly joined the band wagon of the dictator.i hate them all

I hear you nikama. After the incident in Karachi, I just don't want to be associated with these people. I think I am going to start telling people that I am from Turkey

alignating oneself from the wrong can be an escape but not a solution,we have to live with the same ppl for the rest of our lives.change will only come about if more and more ppl like you take responsibility on thier shoulders and start doing something positive for a change

I am not alienating myself from all this. I am just heart broken because of Karachi and then Peshawar incident. I do not know at this point who am I. I think I really need to study Islam and see if I am even a Muslim. Whatever I have read so far and believed in about my religion, the realities on the ground just do not add up to what Islam teaches.

we all need to re-discover our religion and ourselves in present age,but never lose hope,we the human beings are very short visioned,we are able to see the present only, our predictions about future are greatly influenced by our past and present and our fears and hopes but HE WHO is looking from above only HE can see the whole picture.what we term as disaster might prove to be a blessing and vice versa.so we need to prey and hope for the best.

Its not about being short visioned. Look at last 100 years, what have we done? What has been done to stop the hate among Muslims? 1400 years, and we have yet to fix the Sunni/Shia dispute. What exactly is Islam? Whose definitions I should follow?

What ever ur Mom and dad tells u follow that one the easy way out and well every religion is divided like that so its a norm and one should get used to it and live throug it. else u can go and find the best version for urself and let us know of ur findings too. May be constitue a Pakistan style " Fact Finding Mission/Comittie" well if that didnt help umm u can then follow pretty much what eve u like ( this step can be done at the start to rid of all the hassle of above).

I do not see anything wrong with xtreme's post. unless his post has already been deleted.
He does make a good point. Understanding Islam and following it is each individual's responsibility. One does not need to follow Shia or Sunni version of Islam. Islam as a whole has the ability to mold itself to any era. Its the understanding of the people who insist on Islam's rules being written in stone that complicates the matter. I am not saying that the interpretation of Islam according to these Ulema's is wrong. I am just saying that if those scholars were here, they might interpret Islam a little differently.
