Afridi hasnat I have never doubted the capabilties of Syed Noor. Without doubt he is probably the best director in our film industry. This is the precise reason why I have been very disappointed with the films that he has directed in the last 5 to 6 years. The exceptions have been Mehndi Walay Haath and recently Majajan.
Early in his career as director when he made films like Jeeva, Sargham, Ghunghat, Sangham, Deewanay Terey Pyar Kay, Zever, Choorian, Daku Rani etc one genuine thought here is a director that will take Lollywood to the next level.
He himself in his earlier interviews mentioned that he had a vision for Pakistani Cinema. Unfortunately what happened to that vision after 1999.
Two things took over, one his obsession for money and the other being his beloved Saima.
Syed Noor started directing 5 to 6 files at a single work and basically comprimised on his work. It is hard enough to direct one film at a single but to direct 5 or 6 at the same time is mad. Instead of concentrating on quality unfortunately quantity become the mantra for Syed Noor.
Its Syed Noor to started the "tayka" or contract system to make films. Film making is an creative art and not construction which you can make on a contract.
What sort of quality can you expect when films are made this way. Since 2000 Syed Noor has not had one big Urdu hit film.
Majority of his films in the last 6 years have all been remakes of old Pakistani films and nothing new.
Let see what Syed Noor brings us with Jhoomer in the coming months.
Syed Noor's other achilles heel has been Saima. Saima without is an wonderful performer. Syed Noor has casted his beloved wife in every film after he fell in love with her during the late 1990s.
They were a number of films in which Saima was not suitable as herione but still Syed Noor went ahead. The result was that the films flopped and one more thing which puts the public off Syed Noor's films is seeing Saima in every film.
Even Majajan has been a great success for Syed Noor and Saima one hopes that Syed Noor realises his mistake and in future should only cast Saima if suited.
Is high time that Syed Noor seperates his love life from his professional life. If he does not then it will be a shame and the film industry will never see the true potential of Syed Noor.
Syed Noor is talented and one just can hope that he can get his priorites right and starts making some truly wonderful films.

I agree with you W Q Malik on Billi but I did not want to say it myself as people like bilal were looking forward to watching it.
When the film first come out I read the review in the Nigar weekly that the film was something outstanding but then the review in the Dawn was very critical and rightly so.
Subject wise the film was good but technically, production wise, treatment and direction were poor. It was a time when Syed Noor was directing more then one film at a single given time. The film took 3 years to complete and the producer was so upset with Syed Noor he even asked director Husnain to shoot some scenes of the film to complete it quickly.
Billi definately does not look like a Syed Noor film.

They had to change the schedule due to political situation.
Yes DM Digital is going to produced a film along with Syed Noor called The Earthquake, which will be shot in UK, Pakistan and Kashmir.
