Islam A Whole Way Of Life Summary of Yahya Ibrahim’s lecture “Islam A Whole Way
of Life”
Focus: Three Main categories:
a The Call to Islam is more important than the person doing the call.
a Allah will send victory to His religion whether with us, through us, or with coming generation.
a A course of action for each person to live by in order to attain success.
1. The Call to Islam is more important than the person doing the call, even if it is the rasool, sala Allahu ‘alihi wa salam.
Every single soul, human-being, jinn, insect, etc shall taste death. {{Every soul shall taste death}}[1>
However, even if we died the ‘Aiqidah (belief/Creed of) Islam never dies. If Islam was to die by the death of a human being, then it would have died by the death of the prophet Mohammad sala Allahu ‘alihi wa salam. Yet we are the living proof that Islam does not die with the death of a person. The call of Islam is more important than the caller.
Example 1. In the Battle of Uhud, it was rumoured that the prophet sala Allahu ‘alihi wa salam died, some of the sahaba (companions) put down their weaponry and sat down on the ground. They did not know what the do. The prophet, sala Allahu ‘alihi wa salam, was said to have died. In reply (according to Yusuf Ibrahim) Allah has revealed:
{{Muhammad is but a messenger, messengers (the like of whom) have passed away before him. Will it be that, when he dieth or is slain, ye will turn back on your heels? He who turneth back on his heels doth no hurt to Allah, and Allah
will reward the thankful.}} – Surat Al-Imran (3): 144.
So the sahaba learnt this important lesson that the death of a person does notstop the da’awah. The travelling of the person does not stop the da’awah.
2. Allah will send victory to His religion whether with us, through us, or with coming generation
First look at the glad tidings found in the Quran. Allah explains to us the status of the disbelievers in the Quran:
{{Their (those who do wrong) intention is to extinguish Allah's Light (by blowing) with their mouths: But Allah will complete (the revelation of) His Light, even though the Unbelievers may detest (it)
It is He Who has sent His Messenger with Guidance and the Religion of Truth, that he may proclaim it over all religion, even though the idolaters may detest(it).}}[2>
This is the Truth. There is no hiding away from it. What does Allah subhanahu wa Ta’ala tell us in Surat Al-Anfal (Spoils of War) (8): 36 explaining to us the life we are in today:
{{Lo! those who disbelieve spend their wealth in order that they may hinder(men) from the way of Allah. They will spend it,
But what is the end?
then it will become an anguish for them, then they will be conquered. And those who disbelieve will be gathered unto hell,}}
Ask yourself, how much money has been spent to make the Muslim men, women and children to be disbelievers? How much money they spent in printing material that would divide the Muslims away from Allah? (the True Furqan (US version of the Quran).
Ask yourself, how much money has been spent to keep the interest system of banking in place?
Ask yourself, how much money has been spent to put out the revival in the Muslim communities?
Ask yourself, how much money has been spent in keeping the Muslim nation poor and underdeveloped?
What is the end? {{They will spend it,}} You cannot stop them {{then it will become an anguish for them, then they will be conquered. And those who disbelieve will be gathered unto hell,}}
Before we move on to the third point, we ask you what is the prophet, sala
Allahu ‘alihi wa salam’s as glad-tiding to us?:
Hudhaifah bin Al-Yaman reported that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu `alayhi
wa sallam said,
"Prophethood (meaning himself) will remain with you for as long as Allah wills it to remain, then Allah will raise it up wherever he wills to raise it up.
Afterwards, there will be a Caliphate that follows the guidance of Prophethood remaining with you for as long as Allah wills it to remain. Then, He will raise it up whenever He wills to raise it up. Afterwards, there will be a reign of violently oppressive [The reign of Muslim kings who are partially unjust> rule and it will remain with you for as long as Allah wills it to remain. Then, there will be a reign of tyrannical rule and it will remain for as long as Allah wills it to remain. Then, Allah will raise it up whenever He wills to raise it up.
Then, there will be a Caliphate that follows the guidance of Prophethood."
Then Hudhaifah said, "The Prophet stopped speaking."
[Narrated by Ahmad and authenticated by Al-Bukhari in As-Silsilah As-Sahihah,
vol. 1, no. 5>
3. A course of action for each person to live by in order to obtain success.
What is your responsibility as a Muslim towards Islam?
(a) To Know Islam, your religion:
{{Seeking knowledge of the religion helps achieve Taqwa (fear) from Allah and increases Iman. Allah said, what translated means, "It is only those who have knowledge among His slaves that fear Allah.}} [Quran, 35:28>.
Know the rules of the Shari'ah (Islamic Law), the meaning and implications of Ash-Shahadatayn (the two testimonies, there is no god worthy of worship except Allah, and Mohammad is the Messenger of Allah), the wisdom behind the various rules of the religionwith regards to the permissible and the impermissible, the life story of the Messenger of Allah and knowledge in what will occur after death, such as the torment in the grave, the hardships of the Day of Resurrection, the bounties in Paradise and the torment in Hellfire.
Know what “la ilaha Illa Allah Muhamadan rasool Allah” means; Know why you pray, how to pray, when to pray, why you fast, how you fast, when to fast, why you make hajj, and pay zakat, when to do them, and how to do them.
{{Say, ‘Are those who know equal to those who know not?}} [Quran, 39:9>
(b) To Call to Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala, in the Muslim community to come back to Islam and also with the Kuffar.
We are the ummah in the midstream. The people named Mohammad are selling drugs, people named Aisha are prostituting themselves. Call them, bring them to the masjid. Tell them Aisha, hijab cleaned you and purified you. Call them, Ya Mohammad, Salat will help you stay away from evil things. Bring them back to Islam.
But do not also forget Mary, Sue, Patricia, you also go to them and tell them “la ilaha Illa Allah Muhamadan rasool Allah” if they obey them, then tell them about salat, if they obey you then tell them about zakat, if they obey them tell them sawm, if they obey you tell them hajj.
So da’awah to Muslims and non-Muslims
(c) Implementing Allah’s Shari’ah (laws) upon yourself.
Establish the state of Islam and shari’ah with its laws, rules, obligations and duties in your heart, implement it upon yourself, on your family, relatives and children, and you’ll find it implemented upon your land.
Follow the rules of Islam within yourself, whether in secrecy, when you are alone by yourself, or in public.
(d) Think & plan & write a strategic plan on How you the Muslim, can Islam through yourself, and your mone
