Well 2007 is about to get over and how was it for the Lollywood industry?Lets take a close round up.

Well 2007 have been quite a better year for the film industry as compared to the the previous years. The serve crisis which was it going through was reduced by a no of films which were released. Many big budget films were released as small budget films also released.

Lets have the Biggies first...

Mein Ek Din Laut Kay Aaaonga was released on 27th April 2007 all over Pakistan.Having the famous Tv Star Humyun Saeed with Javed Shiekh,Nadeem Baig and for the first time on silver screen Saba Hammed. Also two actresses were also taken from India,Pooja Kanwal and Nausheen Ali Sardar.Much was expected from Nausheen Ali and least was expected from Pooja Kanwal but the viewers were surprised to see that Pooja Kanwal not only had much longer role than Nausheen Ali but acted very well. While Nausheen was a dissapointment, dont know what went wrong but she didnt easily got fit in that role.
The was romantic-suspense thriller inspired from Bollywood movie Karz.Although the movie was good but having the name of Muhummad Javaid Fazil as the director, people were expecting a lot more than this and the film had many loopholes which caused the film to do average business on the box-office.The film's picturisation was great and the whole film was done in India.Music of the film was give by Jawad Ahmed which was superb. The film's media partner was Geo and it was released under the banner of Super Music Masti UK.The film was produced by Shoaib Alam with Asif Jah as the Excec.Producer.The film was the first film to have such a long run at Universe Cineplex(Karachi)were rarely Pak Films were shown and if shown were taken within one or threee weeks but MEDLKA had much a long run.The film is supposed to be screened on Geo at Eid and the dvd will release after Eid.

The much waited Shoaib Mansoor's film Khuda Kay Liye was finnaly released on 20th July 2007 all over Pakistan. The promos were made stylishly that created buzz among all the nation. The film was the first film to be released by Geo Films and proved to be a major box-office hit.The film broke many records in its first week collections.Response was tremendous and not only box-office sucsses but the film was critically acclaimed as well. The music of the film was also an instant hit and within few days of release it was hard to get the cassates and cds of the film as they were selling hot cakes. The soundtrack was appreciated which was also released by Geo Music.Unfortunatly, the pirated DVD print of KKL was leaked out on internet and got spread all over the internet.Pirated Dvd's also started selling in markets also in UK and USA.This did effect the business of KKL in Pakistan and overseas aswell. The film got released in UK and did great busniess there that In its sixth weekend, the film has collected £ 79 on 1 screen. Total: £ 110,022 [approx. Rs. 88.50 lacs](Source indiafm.com).The film was also released in Dubai and USA.The film was also the first Pakistani Film to be screnned in Goa Film Festival and has been appreciated widely by the indian media. The film is making Pakistan Proud.

Mohabbataan Sachiyaan:This youth-orinated love story has been directed by the hardworking director Shehzad Rafique who's last hit was action flick Salakhain.
The film stars Veena Malik,New hero Adnan Khan,Babrik Shah,Newcomer Maria,Naghma,Rashid Mehmood.
The film's music is by Wajahat Attre and has been released by Geo.
The trailors of the film are being appreciated by the press and public and the way Shehzad Rafique has captured the locals is brilliant. And interestingly the cameraman of this film is a newcomer. And Shehzad Rafique has said tht he will also take the cameraman wid him on the shooting of Terey Liye so tht he can learn from the senior Indian cameraman of Terey Liye(Forgot his name)!
The film is rlsing under the banner of Geo Films and the promos of the film are already on-air.
Technically the film is very strong. The film has been edited by Syed Noor's bought computerized System Avid but also the film is the first pakistani film to be processed on DI Format(Digital Intermidiate Technology)which is related to the film's picture and sound quality. In this process the films negative are changed into 1 to 1 then through computer the picture quality is improved so tht a sharp effect can be seen on screen! For this the film has to pass through Telecine and other different stages! In Bollywood Dhoom 2,Veer Zaara,Black and Tararumpum has been processed on DI Format.Like these films the work of MS has been completed in Mumbai's high-tech studio Avital which has costed 20 Lackhs.
Film's sound mixing has been done in Yash Raj's Studio,Mumbai and the prints has been prepared in Adlabs. Its amazing how in 3 crores budget everything has been done. The film was finnaly released on 14th October 2007(Eid-ul-Fitr).The film managed to get a bumper opening but collections started droping from the second week and so on the film is doing average business. The main reason of the film doing only average business was that the storyline was very old and the script could have been much better. But the film was liked by people and the media alot.It was said that it represented Punjab in the loviliest of ways and i completly agree with that. The picturization of the songs was marvellous. The songs were melodious and were the main highlights of the movie.Veena Malik,Adnan Khan,Babrik Shah and Maria Khan everyone gave thier best performance. The bestest film which happened becuz of the film was it gave an compelete makeover to the Punjabi Cinema,it was a refreshing change which is why it was liked alot. The promos were stylishly made and the publicity campaign by Geo was also impressive(Althoguh it was not up to the mark of Geo Films previous release Khuda Kay Liye). The film was also the only film to get the maximum screenings at the South Asian Film Festival which took place in Dehli,India.Celebrities like Manisha Koirala,Govinda and others from the indian film industry watched and praised the film.Overall,it was a good film which gave a good change to the Punjabi Cinema of Pakistan.

Jhoomer:The film is a story abut a woman who crosses the border by mistake and when she returns her child is with her.The studio report is sayin tht Jhoomar is a well made film and will be a hit like Majajan. The film's cast includes Mommar Rana,Saima,Aleena(Late),Karishma Shah(Late),Sheeba Butt and Shafqat Cheema. The music of the film is also good and Syed Noor had a screening of the songs of Jhoomar at his PAPA Academy for the press. The press really appreciated the songs and thier picturisation. The film is produced by Safdar Malik and Directed By Syed Noor.Music by Nijat Ali.Cinematography by Ali Jaan and Edited by Mateen Qadoos. This film is edited on computerized system Avid on which Bollywood and Hollywood films editing takes place.Syed Noor bought this machine and brought it to Pakistan. The film was released on Eid-ul-Fitr 2007 and its media partner was AAJ Tv which promoted the film quite well.Although the film was appreciated by the media, the film was only able to get an average opening and magnaged to do average business. In Karachi the film was released on 2nd November and it was not able to get an average opening per the reports. The biggest reason for Jhoomer doing bad business was that it was released on Eid.If it could have been released seperately and promoted more entusiastically then the results could have been better. Also one more reason is that the film didnt got any good cinema in Karachi,it was released on crappy Bambino Cinema where people avoid to go.Syed Noor did the same thing with Majajan and thats why the film was not able to do decent business in Karachi.Well Jhoomer was stated as a classic film by Nigar Film Weekly.Looking forward to see Jhoomer

Great stuff Afridi Hasnat especially from someone who is so young. You will go a long way.

The UK business of KKL is in Indian rupees not Pakistani Rupees. In Pakistani Rupees it amounts to about 1.375 crore rupees.
