Assalam-o-Aalikum -
and as this article says, Pushto movies who used to be worst and most adult-rated, are coming back to sanity. Besides coming up with good family and social genre movies, their music has improved too. I hope rest of the industry in Pakistan can learn from them. Movies can be used to avoid non-islamic stuff and include themes matching with Islam to improve the society and its image. Our movies, in the past have done just that. Shaheed and Zarqa (super hits made about Palestine struggle) and Yeh Aman are great examples. though Islamically they were not 100% correct but they are far better than what we churned out
All is not lost though. Hasan Askari made an excellent movie in the backdrop of 1947. it is called "Jannat ki talash" and it was run by PTV prime this year. i recorded it too. once again, it was a great effort though not 100% in islamic terms. It had a great message and it showed the maturity of this great producer (who also made excellent "Tere Pyar mein" and an OK "Chalo Ishq Larain". Recently Laaj falls in similar category. people like Hasan Askari and Rouf Khalid and actors like Resham (who surely could improve but worked in Jannat ki talash for free since it was a movie about muslim struggle) should be appreciated.
We can still have with movies but we need to support better subjects and issues (besides the technology).

good points nav64. just 2 add 2 your list of examples, the punjabi film 'mendhi wale hath' could also be seen as a clean movie with a message 2 be delivered. its about how certain groups in pakistani villiages marry their daughters 2 the Qur'ran in an attempt 2 keep money, power and proerty within the family. this is wrong and 'mendhi wale hath' delivers this message quite nicely.
