Moving On

Watching time slip away
from midnight hour till break of day.
Cast away painful tears,
letting go truth I once feared.

No, time can not stand still,
can not capture one's own free will.
Wasted on love gone bad,
moves unnoticed when times are sad.

Broken locks now release,
to find the key to inner peace.
New found strength in me,
time no longer is the enemy.

Stop the world this dark night,
yesteryear drifts into past light.
Again my heart longs to sing,
the future holds what time shall bring.
