Song Of Sadness

I am the song bird high atop the tree,
hear my song of lost love.
Perched upon the branch set high above,
to sing love's melody.

My songs of sadness bellow far and wide,
my sorrow now defined.
Love disappears with sorrow left behind,
and an empty heart inside.

I can no longer feel the sky of blue,
nor the warmth of the sun.
Life's journey for happiness in now done,
sitting here without you.

Hear my sad song sung till you hear no more,
sung just for you tonight.
Time for me to fly and my wings take flight,
into the unknown I soar.

Final song sung for you takes my last breath,
but do not weep for me.
There will be no more tears as pain is set free,
