Nose pressed against window pane,
untouched by springtime rain.
Harshness of winter now long gone,
smudges block rays of dawn.

Death came to call upon the pond,
ghost now call from beyond.
Angels came, whisked love away,
took him on that fateful day.

Cracking of ice, mid silent screams,
dashed were lover's dreams.
A watery grave took her heart that day,
quickly, life slipped away.

Mind meanders mid change of seasons,
still searching for reasons.
Only sign that remains as she peers,
down her cheeks run salty tears.

Pines away in the warmth of spring,
more grief, winter will bring.
Shadows of darkness has taken its toll,
on her broken hearted soul.
