KOHAT, Aug 21: A major was gunned down near the army officers’ colony here on Thursday.
According to official sources, Maj Mohammad Ayub of 45 Baloch Unit was taking his children to school when some men on a motorbike opened fire on his car on the old Indus Highway in KDA Township.
The body of Major Ayub was taken to his village in Miramshah.
Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search for the attackers
Not the first of its kind is it ? And this is how secure daughters, sons and heros of the Pakistan nation are?? WAKE UP, Pakistan.

My comments on this subject are purely on the basis of a man performing parental duties An army major yes. An incredibly dangerous duty/job. If the reports are correct, at the time he had been on a school run. Similar incidents have taken place where people have been on leave hundreds of miles away from their posts.
I feel beyond the boundries of frontline people must feel safe, they must be guarded well. Implications here are far too serious to be ignored. Very sad and painful.
Thank you very much S S. I have some idea of what is going on overthere, but I cannot feel it. Very hard not to, but I cannot allow myself to make any comments on the political nature. Like you, I pray and hope that it is resolved fast and amicably, without further loss of lives (dreaming). Bearing in mind the two bomb victims. I pray for their souls and wish the survivers a speedy recovery.
