BroadHop selected by Wateen for WiMAX deployment
Denver-based firm BroadHop has announced that Pakistani telco Wateen has selected its Service Management Engine (SME) for service policy management in its wireless and wireline network.
The BroadHop SME will provide Wateen with a single point of converged service management, policy and user authentication across all of its access technologies.
The SME enables the creation of rich policy-driven broadband and application services, including multi-service quotas, parental controls, security, voice, and video. It also enables subscriber self-defined experiences, allowing users to manage and upgrade their own services. ‘Wateen provides a comprehensive range of telecommunications and multimedia services for its customers in Pakistan, and it does this across a diverse network made up of wireline and wireless access points,’ said Kishen Mangat, Vice President of Solutions at BroadHop.
‘The BroadHop SME is perfectly suited for this type of installation, where seamless service policy management is critical to a network's success.’
