Beneath The Makeup

Sitting silently at vanity,
bright lights show scars hidden
beneath makeup now removed.

Darkened eyes reflect hidden
pain, abuse and torment,
upon a broken woman.

Beauty stolen by hands
of so called lover. She looks,
she sees, she still cries.
