Washed upon shoreline beaches,
sunlight rays the sand it bleaches.
Lay in white seafoam, tide rush in,
seashells adrift with echoes within.
Held to the ear, hear distant shores,
cool summer breeze, tempest roars.
From deep in brine, now lay at rest,
tales of mermaids and pirate chest.
Shapes, sizes, texured soft hues,
journey afar in a sea darkened blue.
Home to a hermit, pearl and snail,
barnacles beneath ships set sail.
Treasured collection lay upon sand,
horseshoes and starfish so grand.
Movement of tide precise and slow,
shells wash ashore mid ebb and flow.
