Assalam O Alaikum

*Source: "What Happens After Death" by M.A. Ilahi>

When we speak of Death we think of it as the end of life. There is no more living. Regardless of who we are or what status we attain, Death is a part of life. We all know that when we die, we will be washed and buried.

But what will happen to "death"?

When the Polytheists, Hypocrites and the Unbelievers will be the only ones left in Hell, there will be no ecsape for them. They will remain there forever, not being able to die, nor will the punishment be any lighter for them.

It will be at this time, that, Allah Subhana WaTa'ala will say:

"But those who reject(Allah)-for them will be the Fire of Hell:
No term shall be determined for them, so they should die, nor
shall its hastisement be lightened for them. Thus do We reward
every ungrateful one!"[35:36>

Those Believers who were sinful will go to Hell but will be sent to Heaven later after a punishment for their sins. Then no one will die in
Heaven nor will anyone be taken out of it. So according to Hadrat Abdullah bin Umar(RA) the Prophet(PBUH) said:

"When all Heavemly people are in Paradise and Hellish ones
are in Hell, death will be placed before them. Later on, it
will be slaughtered between Heaven and Hell. Thereafter,
a proclaimer will call aloud. "O Heavenly people! there is
no death now; O Hellish people: there is no death now. This
will give utmost joys to the Heavenly and deepest anguish
to the Hellish people". [Bukhari, Muslim>

This will not be the end of change for death. According to Hadrat Abu
Saeed Khudri's(RA) report from the Prophet;s(PBUH) reading of an ayat from Sura Maryam:

"Wa audirhum yaumul hasrate"
He(PBUH) then explained the word "hasrate":

"Death (in physical form) will be brought in the shape
of a sheep having black spots and put on the wall
between Heaven and Hell and the Heavenly people
will be called out and said:

"O Heavenly people!" And they will also look up.
Then the Hellish people will be called out: "O Hellish
people!" And they will also look up.

Thereafter both Heavenly and Hellish people will be asked:

"Do you recognise it?"

"Yes we recognise it; it is death", they all will say.

After this recognition, Death will then be slain. That time the Heavenly will express utmost joy and the Hellish utmost sorrow. Had the Heavenly people not been granted preservation forever, they would have died out of joy and the Hellish out of sorrow. [Tirmidhi>

I pray that we are among those that are granted life forever in the Paradise, Ameen.

Allah Knows Best
