Where are you spring, how far away,
until you bring back a warmer day?
Watch the sun, each morning rise,
as snow glistens, I soon realize.
Beneath snow blanket there lay,
signs that spring is on the way.
Icicles drip down from the eaves,
buds appear to bring forth leaves.
Ganders above wander back north,
goslings hatch in springtime warmth.
Crocus peek out neath the snow,
mill stream melts, begins to flow.
Open the window, smell fresh air,
lets me know new season is near.
No more hats, gloves or red noses,
among thorns will bloom red roses.
Nature broadcasts coming of spring,
with colors, sounds and many things
Winter was harsh as cold winds blew,
hello spring, been looking for you.
