If I hand you
My delicate heart,
Will you promise me
That you won't allow it to fall apart?
For my heart, you see
Is easily broken.
It has been bruised, battered
And once stolen.
My once loving heart
Has lost its knowledge of trust.
It has endured many tortures
Cause by careless lust.
So can you promise
To protect my delicate heart?
And to hold it with great care,
So there is never a chance that it will fall apart.
