Joy

Where are you joy, where do you hide,
have you changed your name to sorrow?
Happiness once seen in eyes so bright,
now only tears glisten in the sunlight.

Lost emotion gone with autumn leaves,
my heart stands naked in winter wind.
Brittle and cracked from frosty tears,
long to feel the warmth of summer love.

Will you return with the coming spring,
let me feel the joy of living once more?
Are you fleeting, never more to return,
will fate keep me within this sorrow?

Does it await to return in April showers,
or on the warm spring breeze in May?
If there shall be no joy in my tomorrows,
then let all my tomorrows end this day.
