Sanjay Gupta is unrelenting mood, with his upcoming production, Pankh, he is bound to draw attention and controversy.
Pankh is based on a true story of a child actor Ahsaas Channa, who has played key roles in films like Vaastu Shastra. Apparently Ahsaas, a girl by birth was passed of by her mother as a boy only to get her roles in television commercials. Ahsaas was also seen in Karan Johar’s Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna
Director Sudipto will cast a newcomer Maraddona to play Ahsaas’s character in the film, only Maradonna is a boy, who has to play various girl characters in the films. Sexually misunderstood, and mentally confused, Pankh is a story of confusion of a child actor, when he grows up playing the other sex.
And then there's Bipasha Basu in her new look, she plays a bollywood actress, who the kid is completely smitten by.
Pankh is yet again, completely different from routine masala movies getting released. A must watch for those who appreciate different cinema. Sanjay Gupta definitely is on the roll, when it comes to original scripts and ideas
