My heart skipped a beat
I did not want to believe
that you were saying goodbye
All I could do is grieve

As the tears ran from my eyes
listening to each phrase
as they passed thru your lips
left me in a broken daze

The hours dragged by
what seemed like eternity
the pain was stifling
and brought me to my knees

My eyes spilling over
so cruel and unfair
my hands were tied
my heart laid bare
