The New Orleans Saints arent kidding themselves about their current situation. Michael Wilhoite 49ers Jersey . Sure, theyre right at the top of the NFC South and involved in a jumbled race for what almost
assuredly will be the divisions lone playoff berth. But that 4-6 record? Thats a
different story. We cant escape the reality of where we are right now,
quarterback Drew Brees said. You are what your record says you are. Were a 4-6
team right now. None of us feel that because were still in contention that thats
good enough. We still have a lot of work to do. New Orleans hasnt lost three
straight home games since a six-game slide in 2005, but that would change if
they cant bounce back against the Baltimore Ravens tonight. You can watch the
game live on TSN1, TSN3 and TSN GO at 8:30pm et/5:30pm pt. The Saints lost 27-24
in overtime to San Francisco on Nov. 9 before last weeks 27-10 defeat to
Cincinnati, a contest during which they appeared flat, according to coach Sean
Payton. New Orleans has lost by three points or fewer four times but certainly
doesnt care about moral victories. Each team in the division is below .500, with
Atlanta owning an identical 4-6 record but having won the teams first meeting.
If they can turn around their season, the Saints could wind up with a home
playoff game despite the current struggles. There have been a number of tough
losses, close losses, and what that means is at this point in the season, that
margin for error becomes that much more slight, Payton said. Were playing a
six-game season right now. The emphasis will shift very quickly to Baltimore and
our preparations. We have to find a way to get a win this week. New Orleans will
have to do that without two starters, though. Rookie receiver Brandin Cooks had
surgery to repair a broken right thumb, and safety Rafael Bush is out with a
broken leg. Both were placed on season-ending injured reserve Wednesday. We have
to be physically and mentally prepared for whats obviously a very important game
against Baltimore, Payton said. The Ravens (6-4) are involved in a tight
division race of their own, as each team in the AFC North has at least six
victories. They ended a two-game skid with a 21-7 win over Tennessee on Nov. 9
and have gotten a nice late-season rest due to last weeks bye. Players took some
time off and kind of emotionally and physically recharged a little bit, coach
John Harbaugh said. You dont realize how exhausted you are until you get a
chance to take a deep breath and relax. Harbaugh emphasized, though, that
Baltimore has to quickly get back into game mode to be prepared for a hungry New
Orleans team. Were going to have a tough environment, Harbaugh said. Theyre
coming off two losses, theyre a very proud team, very well coached, very
talented. Great quarterback, aggressive defense. Were going to have our hands
full and wed better be ready to go. Id like to think our guys understand that,
but well find out Monday night. Justin Forsett had another solid effort against
the Titans, rushing for 112 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries. Hes
averaging 5.4 yards per rush, tops among all running backs. Forsett could be in
for another big day against the Saints, who are allowing 4.8 per carry and 146.3
rushing yards per game over the last three weeks. New Orleans has struggled
against the pass virtually all season, ranking 24th at 255.2 yards per contest,
and is tied for the fifth-fewest takeaways (10) - factors that could bode well
for a slumping Joe Flacco. Flacco threw 12 touchdowns and three interceptions
through the first six games, but hes thrown five of each over the last four. The
Ravens arent much better against the pass, allowing an average of 251.2 yards
(21st), and have an equally low number of interceptions as the Saints (six).
Brees leads the league with a 69.5 completion percentage after connecting on at
least 80 percent for the second time last week, finishing 33 of 41 for 255 yards
and a score without an INT. Hes one TD pass shy of his 11th straight season with
at least 20. We know what were up against, said cornerback Danny Gorrer, who had
an interception against the Titans. ... Were getting ready to face a Hall of
Fame quarterback, and weve got to rise up to the occasion. Baltimore has won
four of five all-time meetings, most recently overcoming three TD passes from
Brees in a 30-24 victory in 2010. Joe Montana 49ers Jersey . - Minnesota rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is out the Vikings game Thursday night against the
Green Bay Packers because of a sprained left ankle. Will Redmond Jersey .As he has so often done, the 35-year-old Cahill delivered for his country in its time of need, scoring
twice in a 20-minute period after halftime. Australia, the 2011 finalists, will
face either defending champion Japan or the United Arab Emirates next week for a
spot in the final.LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Hearing his name announced in the Lakers
starting lineup at Staples Center for the first time topped everything else
Ramon Sessions has experienced in his five NBA seasons. Sessions gave the
sellout crowd the kind of dominating performance they were waiting to see in his
fifth game with Los Angeles, getting 20 points and 11 assists in a 103-96
victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night. "I came to the
shootaround this morning and they told me I was in the lineup and that I should
just be ready to go at the beginning of the game," Sessions said. "When they
named me the starter, I called my mom and talked to my close cousin. Its a dream
come true, to have my name called like that at the Staples Center. "My careers
been up and down — starting and coming off the bench. But this is the biggest
thing so far, being on a winning team. A playoff-bound team. A
championship-bound team. Its definitely a great experience, and Im going to
enjoy it." Sessions, 25, was obtained from Cleveland along with Christian Eyenga
on March 15 for Luke Walton and Jason Kapono. The fifth-year veteran made his
first three shots and was 6 for 10 from the field in 35 minutes after averaging
25 minutes, 12 points and six assists in his four games off the bench.
Andrew Bynum had 28 points and nine rebounds for the Lakers, who finished with a
season-high 33 assists and outrebounded the Blazers 53-29 to increase their
Pacific Division lead to 3 1/2 games over the idle Clippers. Kobe Bryant scored
18 points and Pau Gasol had 16 rebounds and 10 points, as every Lakers starter
finished in double-digit scoring. "Ramons a big part of it. With the talent
level he has, its a pretty easy transition for him," Bryant said. "He got in the
paint and was creating opportunities for everybody else. Offensively, we were
executing things extremely well and running things with more continuity. We made
a lot of shots, just trying to play the percentages, and we made them take
defensive shots." Sessions became the first Lakers point guard to record a
double-double since Jan. 11, 2009, when Derek Fisher had 13 points and 11
assists in 42 1/2 minutes against the Miami Heat in a 108-105 victory at Staples
Center. "The guys in here believe in me, and they were just telling me to be
aggressive and play my game," Sessions said. "I cant really say what I thought
the numbers will be night in and night out, but tonight I was just feeding off
Pau, Bynum and Kobe. They make my job a lot easier out there. Everybodys paying
those guys a lot of attention, so I just sneak around and take what they give
me. When you move the ball like that, its tough to lose games in this league."
Steve Blake went back to a reserve role, scoring two points in 18 minutes. He
started the previous four games following the departure of Fisher at the trading
deadline, averaging almost 23 minutes and totalling just five points and 13
assists while shooting 2 for 12. LaMarcus Aldridge led the Trail Blazers with 29
points on 12-for-18 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds. Forward J.J. Hickson
made his Blazers debut after being claimedd off waivers from Sacramento on
Wednesday, scoring 14 points in 22 minutes. Jerry Rice 49ers Jersey. "I havent had a chance to practice with the team, but I know most of the plays and all of our
separate sets," Hickson said. "We didnt do anything difficult, as far as the
offence goes. I was just playing off my teammates." Portland trailed by as many
as 12 late in the first quarter before Wesley Matthews tied it 48-all on a
3-pointer late in the second, capping the Blazers 18-6 run, but they never did
take the lead. "The effort was there. There was no question about that, and we
were in the game," Aldridge said. "We were battling, and they definitely didnt
have an easy game tonight. It wasnt a blowout." Jamal Crawford had a chance to
put Portland ahead with 25 seconds left in the third, but missed a 19-footer. He
got another chance to give the Blazers the lead, but Matt Barnes hustled back
after a Lakers turnover and blocked Crawfords fast-break layup with 9:57 left in
the game. Barnes then hit a 3-pointer 43 seconds later, and the Lakers
eventually were able to put the stubborn Blazers away — but not before Portland
cut the martin to a single point three different times on 3-pointers by
Crawford, Matthews and Raymond Felton during a 4-minute stretch. It was the
third game this season in which the Lakers never trailed. The other two were
against Minnesota. "Portland was playing hard and they didnt give up, but we
kept battling," Sessions said. "We were able to get one or two more stops than
them and get a couple more buckets at the offensive end. It was closer than it
looked." Notes: Bryant has 29,235 points and needs 43 more to overtake
Michael Jordan for second place on the career list for most points scored with
one franchise during the regular season. Karl Malone, who ended his career with
the Lakers in 2003-04 after 18 seasons with Utah, had 36,374 points with the
Jazz. ... The Lakers began a stretch in which they will play six of seven at
home. They are 20-4 at Staples Center, including a loss to the Clippers in which
the Lakers were the designated visiting team. ... Sessions is playing for his
fourth NBA team in five years. In his 89 previous NBA starts, he averaged 14.8
points and 7.4 assists. He made a career-high 39 starts in 2008-09 with
Milwaukee, and 38 with the Cavaliers last season. ... Bryant is averaging 27.2
points in 17 games against the Trail Blazers since scoring 65 against them in a
116-111 overtime win at Staples Center on March 16, 2007 — the first of four
consecutive games in which he scored 50 or more en route to his second straight
scoring title. Bryant is vying for a third with a league-best 28.5. ... Bryant
was 5 for 17 from the field. The Lakers are 8-1 when hes attempted fewer than 20
shots. They are 26-18 this season when Bryant misses at least 10 shots, and 1-7
when hes missed more than 16 in a game. ... Portland is 2-3 since Kaleb Canales
replaced Nate McMillan as head coach and starters Marcus Camby and
Gerald Wallace were traded. ... Portland was 8 for 20 on free throws, one night
after converting all 25 attempts in a 97-93 home win against Memphis. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys ' ' '
