CHARLOTTE, N.
Aaron Murray Chiefs Jersey .C. -- Kemba Walker said the most notable transformation between this years Charlotte
Bobcats and teams of the past is now they expect to win games. "Thats what it
is," Walker said. "We go into games knowing that we have a chance. We have the
players and we have the character. Thats the difference." The Bobcats went
28-120 in their previous two seasons, but a renewed sense of confidence and
determination is paying off. Well, that and a having a big man who can dominate
in the low post. Centre Al Jefferson had a season-high 26 points, Walker nearly
had a triple double and the Bobcats overcame an 18-point deficit to escape with
a 111-110 overtime over the Milwaukee Bucks for their fourth victory in the past
five games Monday night. Walker had 25 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds, and
Anthony Tolliver had 12 points on four 3-pointers as the Bobcats avenged a
hard-to-swallow loss at home Saturday night against the Utah Jazz. Rookie
Cody Zeller added a career-high 12 points for the Bobcats (14-15) in what coach
Steve Clifford called his best NBA game. Jefferson told Walker this summer that
he was signing as a free agent with the Bobcats because he expected to win
games. He didnt want to play for a cellar dweller. "I told him Im not going to
get used to losing," Jefferson said. "We want to try to turn things around. So
far, so good." Its the third time in the last four games the Bobcats have come
back from at least 16 points down to win. "We dont like getting down that early,
but it happens," Walker said. "We are showing our resiliency. We are showing
that when we get down, were not out. Were going to keep fighting. The game is
never over, especially in this league." Brandon Knight had 26 points and 14
assists to lead the Bucks (6-22), who have lost five of their last six games.
The Bucks had a chance to tie in overtime off an inbounds play with 1.6 seconds
left, but officials ruled Khris Middletons foot was on the line and his jumper
counted as two points instead of three. "I didnt know where I was," said
Middleton, who had 19 points. "It was a good play and a good shot, but obviously
my foot was on the line. Anybody wants that situation. I just caught it and shot
it." It was Charlottes third victory this season against Milwaukee, although
this one was much closer than the previous two. The Bobcats beat the Bucks twice
in November by 24 and 16 points. But it was Milwaukee that jumped out to a 35-17
lead in the second quarter by dominating the boards. Charlottes starters were 6
of 20 from the field at one point before Jefferson started to get hot toward the
end of the second quarter and helped the Bobcats trim the lead to 54-52 at the
break. The teams entered the fourth quarter tied, but Tolliver knocked down his
fourth 3-pointer with 4:02 left on the clock to give Charlotte a 96-94 lead. The
Bucks would cut the lead to one with 35 seconds left before Walker hit a pull-up
jumper from 13 feet with 16 seconds left. After a timeout, Middleton missed a
3-pointer, but O.J. Mayo grabbed the loose rebound and knocked down a 25-footer
to send the game into overtime. In the extra period, the Bobcats took a
one-point lead late on a free throw by Jefferson. The Bucks had a chance to take
the lead but Middleton missed a jumper and Walker grabbed his ninth rebound of
the game. Walker knocked down two free throws with 1.6 seconds left to push the
lead to 111-108. Milwaukees last ditch effort fell short when Middletons jumper
at the buzzer from the right corner went in, but was ruled a two-pointer.
Replays showed his foot was on the line. "We just have to get over the hump,"
Bucks coach Larry Drew said. "Were knocking at the door. We just have to get
over the hump. Were putting ourselves in position. Like I told the guys, we can
have good stretches and then we have breakdowns. Bad shots are just as good as a
turnover. Particularly on the road. You have to be disciplined enough to get
good shots." The Bobcats had a season-high 10 3-pointers including a 4-for-4
effort by Tolliver, who took over as the starter after Jeffery Taylor tore his
Achilles tendon last week. NOTES: The Bobcats announced that Taylor had surgery
to repair a torn right Achilles tendon and is expected to miss six to nine
months. ... Jefferson has scored in double digits in 16 straight games for the
Bobcats. ... Former North Carolina Tar Heel P.J. Hairston was on hand for the
game against the Bucks watching former college teammate John Henson.
Jeremy Maclin Chiefs Jersey . The Goldeyes (10-7) lost 4-1 to the Saltdogs (8-9) Sunday afternoon before 5,834 sizzling
fans at Shaw Park. The loss drops Winnipegs record to 3-4 during this past weeks
seven-game homestand.
Frank Zombo Chiefs Jersey . Speaking to members of the media on Tuesday for the first time since returning home from the
Winter Games, Tavares said he will need eight to 12 weeks to fully
recover.Arlington, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Carson Palmer threw three touchdown
passes and the Arizona Cardinals took advantage of Tony Romos absence in
recording a 28-17 win over the reeling Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium. With
Romo held out after sustaining two small fractures in his back during Mondays
overtime loss to Washington, the Cowboys offense wasnt the same with backup
Brandon Weeden at the controls. Dallas (6-3) mustered a meager 266 total yards
and didnt produce an offensive touchdown until Dez Bryants 3-yard touchdown grab
from Weeden with 1:08 remaining. Weeden completed just 18-of-33 passes for 183
yards and tossed a pair of interceptions, while Bryant -- shadowed by Patrick
Peterson for most of the game -- didnt register a catch until the late TD drive.
The Cardinals third-ranked run defense also limited DeMarco Murray to 79 yards
on 19 carries, the first time the star running back was held under 100 in nine
outings this season. Palmer shook off an early interception that Tyler Patmon
returned 58 yards for a touchdown to finish 22-of-34 for 249 yards for the
NFC-leading Cardinals (7-1), who ended a string of 14 consecutive regular-season
losses in Dallas and are off to their best eight-game start since 1974. Andre
Ellington totaled 95 rushing yards on 21 attempts in the win, while adding 39
yards and a touchdown on four receptions. A day that ultimately ended in
frustration got off to a very promising beginning for Dallas, as Weeden was
handed a 7-0 lead before he even took a snap. Palmers down-the-middle throw into
coverage on the opening drive was picked off by Patmon, with the rookie
cornerback racing untouched along the sideline just over four minutes into the
contest. Weeden guided the Cowboys to a field goal on his initial series, aided
by a well-executed screen that Lance Dunbar turned into a 40-yard gain to set up
Dan Baileys 52-yard field goal. Arizona answered with its best drive of the
first half, a 13-play, 80-yard sequence in which Palmer went 5-for-7 and
converted three third-down chances, the last coming on his 7-yard bullet to John
Carlson that got the Cardinals within 10-7 early in the second quarter. After
Dallas next two possessions went three-and-out, Arizona marched 63 yards in
eight plays to move ahead. A 20-yard catch-and-run by Ellington brought the
Cardinalss into the red zone, and Palmer hit Jaron Brown on a third-down slant
route three plays later for an 11-yard touchdown 4:34 prior to the intermission.
Marcus Allen Chiefs Jersey. Murrays powerful 17-yard run just before the two-minute warning got the Cowboys to the Arizona 16
and positioned Bailey for another field goal try. However, Justin Bethel swooped
in to block the kick and keep the Cardinals up 14-10 at intermission. The
Cowboys defense kept them in it through three quarters of play, but mistakes
continued to plague Dallas on the other side of the ball. Weeden was intercepted
by Tyrann Mathieu at the Cardinals 10-yard line on Dallas second drive of the
second half, and Murray was stuffed by Deone Bucannon on 4th-and-1 from the
Arizona 34 to thwart another scoring chance with 9:36 remaining. The Cardinals
proceeded to churn out 65 yards in nine plays to create a two- score
differential. Ted Ginn Jr. came down with an acrobatic 27-yard catch at the
Dallas 28 and Ellington followed with a 17-yard run in front of Larry
Fitzgeralds 10-yard reception to the Dallas one. Shortly after, Palmer found a
wide-open Ellington in the flat for a short touchdown that gave Arizona a 21-10
lead with six minutes to play. Antonio Cromartie then jumped a route to
intercept Weeden deep in Dallas territory on the ensuing possession, with the
turnover leading to Marion Grices 1-yard touchdown that all but sealed the
outcome with 4:20 left. Weeden engineered a 12-play, 87-yard drive in the
closing moments that was capped with Bryants snare of a fade toss in the end
zone. Game Notes The Cardinals most recent regular-season win in Dallas occurred
on Oct. 29, 1989, though they did come through with a 20-7 victory in Texas
Stadium in a 1998 NFC Wild Card game ... Cowboys middle linebacker Rolando
McClain left with an apparent leg injury in the fourth quarter ... Dallas also
played without a pair of offensive line starters in right tackle Doug Free
(fractured foot) and guard Ronald Leary (groin) ... The Cardinals now are
plus-10 in turnover margin for the season ... Brown and Grice each scored their
first career touchdowns ... Bethels blocked field goal was Arizonas 18th since
2008, the most in the NFL over that span ... Weeden fell to 5-16 as a starter
for his career.
