Miami, FL (SportsNetwork. Terrell Davis Broncos Jersey .com) - The inaugural Miami Beach Bowl turned into a Miami Beach brawl. Before actual punches were thrown, Memphis beat BYU 55-48 in a double-overtime thriller on Monday, taking the lead on Paxton Lynchs 11-yard touchdown pass to Roderick Proctor, then sealing the win with an interception. But the Tigers celebration was interrupted by an ugly on-field melee in which players from both teams exchanged blows, leaving some bloodied and threatening to overshadow the first football game played inside Marlins Park. And what a game it was. BYU scored 17 straight points off turnovers in the fourth quarter to take a 45-38 lead, but Memphis tied the score on Lynchs 5-yard touchdown pass to Keiwone Malone with 45 seconds left in regulation. In the first overtime, BYUs Jordan Leslie was close to scoring a touchdown when he squeezed the ball against his right shoulder pad while falling into the end zone. But the ball touched the ground and the Cougars settled for Trevor Samsons 45-yard field goal. Lynch and the Tigers lost 12 yards on their first overtime possession before Jake Elliott hammered through a 54-yarder to tie the score. Proctors sliding catch in the right side of the end zone gave Memphis lead and the game ended on a turnover when DaShaughn Terry intercepted Christian Stewarts overthrown pass, sparking a celebration on the field. The brawl appeared to start with Memphis defensive lineman Martin Ifedi and BYU offensive lineman Tejan Koroma, but many other players were involved. In the clearest example of how bad it got, BYU defensive back Kai Nacua punched Memphis tight end Alan Cross from behind as Cross was being held by one of his coaches. The blow was captured live on the TV broadcast, which also showed that Nacua was bleeding from a cut below his left eye. Elsewhere, Memphis offensive lineman Chase Johnson was seen swinging his helmet at a BYU player and Cougars linebacker Harvey Langi appeared to throw several rapid punches at an opponent. Lynch accounted for all seven Memphis touchdowns, throwing for four of them and rushing for three. He passed for 306 yards and threw three interceptions, but the Tigers (10-3) won in their first bowl appearance since the 2008 season. Malone had two touchdown receptions and Cross caught the other as Memphis picked up its seventh consecutive win. Stewart passed for 348 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions for BYU (8-5), which fell to 6-4 in its 10th consecutive bowl game under coach Bronco Mendenhall. Leslie, Mitchell Juergens and Mitch Mathews had touchdown catches and Paul Lasike rushed for two scores. BYU trailed 17-14 after a back-and-forth first quarter but had a 28-21 lead at halftime after turning a Lynch interception into Lasikes 3-yard touchdown. Memphis took the lead with two touchdowns in the third quarter, including Lynchs 1-yard run on the opening possession. Later, Manoa Pikulas interception set up Samsons 23-yard field goal and the Cougars tied the score after Memphis return man Joe Craig was stripped on the ensuing kickoff and Lasike scored from seven yards out. They took a 45-38 lead on Zac Stouts 19-yard interception return with 7:48 left in regulation. Lynch had almost 10 seconds to make his game-tying throw, working his way toward the right sideline behind good protection before finding Malone near the middle of the end zone for the 5-yard score. Stewarts long pass to Leslie on the last play of regulation was knocked down by Andrew Gaines near the Memphis 5-yard line as time expired. Game Notes BYU fell to 13-19-1 in bowl games while Memphis improved to 4-3 ... It was the first-ever meeting between the teams. Russell Okung Broncos Jersey . Whatever message Wilson was trying to send, the Hoosiers got it. DAngelo Roberts scored on a 3-yard touchdown run with 22 seconds remaining and Nate Sudfeld passed for 252 yards and a touchdown to help the Hoosiers upset the 18th-ranked Tigers 31-27. "Weve been talking about how weve been knocking on the door and now you have to knock it down," Wilson said. "We kept tapping on it and hadnt knocked it down." After giving up 10 consecutive points to Missouri in the fourth quarter, the Hoosiers (2-1) travelled 75 yards on six plays to reclaim the lead for good. Tevin Coleman ran 44 yards to the Missouri 15-yard line to setup the game-winning score. Indiana extended its final drive thanks to a pass interference penalty on Missouris John Gibson on fourth-and-6 at the Hoosiers 29. Sudfeld attempted to find Dominique Booth across the middle of the field, but Gibson wrapped his arms around the receiver before he could make the catch. "You have a bad taste in your mouth," Missouri linebacker Michael Scherer said. "This should have never happened, but it did, so weve got to rebound and weve got to work. Thats all there is to it." Indiana entered the game as a double-digit underdog, having lost 45-42 to Bowling Green, but recorded 11 tackles for loss, hamstringing Missouri for most of the first three quarters. The Tigers finished with 498 total yards, including 145 in the final 15 minutes. Missouri looked to be in prime position, too, after Andrew Baggett kicked a 40-yard field goal with 2:20 remaining to cap an 11-play, 70-yard drive for a 27-24 lead. The score followed a 1-yard touchdown pass from Maty Mauk to Sean Culkin 11 minutes earlier to tie the game. "When was the last time we faced adversity?" Mauk asked. "Obviously, you dont want that, but were going to bouunce back and I have no doubt everybodys going to get healthy and were going to come out ready to play Saturday. Andre Caldwell Broncos Jersey. " Mauk completed 28 of 47 passes for 326 yards, two touchdowns and an interception and Russell Hansbrough added 119 yards on the ground on 10 carries. The Tigers (3-1) play at South Carolina next week to start a stretch of eight consecutive games against Southeastern Conference opponents. Hansbrough provided sparks for the Tigers in the opening half after walking off the field gingerly on Missouris second possession after Indianas Antonio Allen committed a horse-collar tackle. He then gained 111 yards on his first three carries, including 68 yards on a touchdown run to tie the score at 14 midway through the second quarter. The Tigers struggled to contain Coleman, though, without defensive end Markus Golden, who injured his left hamstring midweek in practice but is expected to return next week, coach Gary Pinkel said. The senior defensive end has 6.5 tackles for loss and four sacks this season. Coleman opened the games scoring with a 1-yard run 10 minutes into the game, extending his streak of reaching the end zone to 12 games and tying the school record set by Anthony Thompson in 1988-89. The junior finished with 132 yards on 19 carries despite sitting the final 20 minutes of the first half with cramps, Wilson said. He returned during the Hoosiers first drive after the break. "It was a really big win," Coleman said. "We came out here with fire. We played until the end." Indiana gained 493 total yards, 77 short of their season average, and finished just 1 of 14 on third-down conversions. While there are things to fix, a win against an SEC opponent nonetheless provided some enthusiasm heading into Big Ten play against Maryland. "We aint got nothing figured out," Wilson said. "Were the same group of bums that played last week. Thats the same bunch of bums this week. Well see how we show up next week." Cheap NFL Jerseys ' ' '
