After LAGAAN, Bollywood bears witness to yet another film on cricket. But this time, it is not as grand as Ashutosh Gowariker's Oscar-nominated saga, but a medium-budget venture made by first-timer Sanjay Srinivas.

Titled SILENCE PLEASE… THE DRESSING ROOM, it is a screen adaptation of the famous English play THE DRESSING ROOM. Says Srinivas, “It's all about a goodwill cricket match played between India and Pakistan in the heart of Srinagar [Kashmir]. Two terrorist organisations, hell bent on ruining the peace and sanctity, publicly announce to strike if the match isn't abandoned. But, as they say, the show must go on.”

The film will be wrapped in one schedule for a March release next year. Starring Salil Ankola as the Indian cricket captain, Tom Alter as the coach and Sonali Kulkarni as a sports reporter, it is being produced under the banner of Brady Films.
