Noor will make The Bradford
by GHULAM HUSSAIN
Pakistan film industry's showman Syed Noor, who is known for breaking stereotypes in Lollywood, will now make an English film titled 'The Bradford'. The shooting of the film will start in July and will be shot entirely in England.
In an exclusive interview with The Nation Plus Syed Noor said that the story of the film was written by a famous Hollywood scriptwriter, "while I myself has written the screenplay."
Noor said that the cast of the film would include actors from England and Pakistan. Talking about the subject of the film, he said, "It is about the third generation of the Negros and the Muslims who have been living in Bradford which is considered the stronghold of the drug mafia. This third generation has strong links with the underworld net of the international drug mafia."
He also said that there were drug dealers in almost every house in Bradford, and most of them are Negros and Muslims. The Britishers alongwith the British Government is scared of these people, because they are very dangerous.
Noor said that according to the Pakistani point of view this film would be based on patriotism. He also said that the film would be made under the banner of Paragon Entertainment Group.
Noor who spoke mostly in English hoped that 'The Bradford' would boost up the image of the Pakistani films on the international level. Noor revealed that aside from 'The Bradford' he is also making an art film , titled Aakhri Khawahish (The last desire). This art film will be made with the collaboration of DJ International. Noor's favourite artist Saima will play the lead in the movie.
He said that the art film would go on the floors next month, and he has written the script of the film himself.
About the success of 'Larki Punjaban' Noor said, "I thank God who has bestowed me with this honour.
"I have fulfilled my promise of giving the viewers a clean family entertainer," he continued, "No other Pakistani film has ever got such a great response which 'Larki Punjaban' has received. It is my honour that BBC Channel showed a full one-hour long programme on my film. There is not a single country where I have not received calls and internet messages from, with viewers asking about 'Larki Punjaban'."
Noor said in England a good number of the Sikhs have also seen 'Larki Punjaban' and they found that this film is not against the Sikh religion."
It may be mentioned here that Noor's other recently released film 'Commando' has also hit the jackpot.
Noor said that seeing the result of 'Larki Punjaban', the Lollywood producers and directors are thinking over how to make films on an international level.
He said that the credit of 'Larki Punjaban' should go to its producer Afzal M. Khan.
He further said that he had given a talented hero to Lollywood in the shape of Shamyl Khan, who will fill the gap of a good hero.
He said performance-wise 'Larki Punjaban' is a sequel to Saima's 'Daku Rani', 'Mehendi Walley Hath', 'Ghoongat' and 'Choorian'. "She looks quite different in each movie."
Noor said that Afzal M. Khan has the British nationality and he plans to release 'Larki Punjaban' in India very soon. Afzal Khan has earlier produced a film called 'Chhoti Si Love Story' in India, which had Manisha Koirala in the lead.

Syed Noor made this announcement last year and since then he has not said anything else on this subject. It might be just be another annoucement.
With Majajan finally getting released today and Syed Noor's other film in production Jhoomer also more then half completed. It will be interesting to see his next project. Recently he also announced another film called "Aurat".
Lets wait and see.
